Fishing
Sport fishing charter is available in Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine and Rangiroa in various size fishing boats, from 20 foot center consoles, to 45' sportsfishers. Any of these daily charters can easily be arranged from your hotels. Costs vary depending on boat size and location, and start at
about $550 per day. Fishing takes place outside the lagoons, trawling for small tuna, mahi mahi, yahoo and various types of billfish. This is not as good as Mexico or Australia, but more like Hawaii, with comparable type of fish.
Fly fishing or fishing from shore or in the lagoons is almost nonexistent due to the shallowness of the lagoons and the type of fish present.
We provide some phone numbers and contacts for fishing charters in the islands pages in this website.
