Thank you Jack Harrison! We're really looking forward to both the Village and the Sauvage.

Do you remember what time the boat brings you back from the Sauvage to the Village? Thank You!

It seems that we arrived back at the Village around 11:30 in the morning. Jack I think the longest you can stay at the Sauvage is a week. I totally agree with you though...the most, wonderful, amazing, place I've ever stayed.

Hello everyone,
I want to first start out and thank everyone for helping my wife and I plan our trip to FP! We will be leaving Feb 16 and comming back on Mar 4th with stops in BB and Tahaa. We will also be spending 4 nights at the KOV in Rangi and 4 nights at the Sauvage. Since the Sauvage seems so primitive I was wondering do we need to bring drinking water to the island? I know all the meals are included but if we want drinking water in our bangalow do we need to bring it or is it supplied? Also wondering about the heat and humidity with no escape to AC for a bit to cool off. Don't get me wrong we are not looking for luxury cooled rooms but I started to think that being there for 4 nights in that type of weather might start to wear on us. Is it that big of a deal? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

There will be several large bottles of water available for you in your room when you arrive and then plenty of bottled water available as you need it. They are supposed to charge for the water but I dont recall any being charged to our bill. We had taken several smaller bottles of water and were glad we did because we filled these and took with us on the day trips. Better then hauling around a big bottle. It was a little warm one night but then the next 2 were great. It just depends on the direction of the wind. During the day it was never a problem - plenty of shade lots of ice cold Hinano and the water just a few feet away from your room. The pace is slow so no need to rush around and heat up. Any time I got a little warm I put on my mask and went snorkeling off the beach. It has been over a year since we were there but seems like yesterday. The Sauvage is an incredible experience. Enjoy

Mmajoril - as stated, there are bottles of drinking water available, but they are no longer needed. As of June, you can drink from the taps at KOS - they have installed a desalination/reverse osmosis unit that accomodates all of the freshwater needs on the island. They also have HOT WATER now! Study up on reverse osmosis water systems and you'll realize that the water at KOS is now cleaner than what probably runs out of your tap at home.

Thanks to all who have answered my questions about the Sauvage. Jack the reverse osmosis system is very interesting. Wonder how they run that and also heat water with no electricity? Thanks again for the input.

Just curious, what activities are there at the Sauvage?

They have electricity provided via a generator. Michel, our host, was terribly agitated about it, but he said that it was the only way - their freshwater supply - well? had run out. Michel ran the generator for a few hours per day and turned it off completely overnight. I could barely hear the exhaust if I tried hard, but he said it stood out like a sore thumb to his ears.

Electricity was not apparent anywhere else - only for the water system.
