Thanks for the tip. Most recommended because of location?

I was on the forum for about 9 months and during that time almost everyone said 51-53 were the best beach bungalows due to their location on the "quiet" side of the resort (i.e. away from the spa, pool and popular beaches and activities) and because the bungalows are set closer to the beach and therefore a little further away from the footpath that goes from one end of the resort to the other. They are also located further down the beach from the docks leading out to the OWBs, so your views are of ocean, not the OWBs sitting out on the ocean, which is also quite nice.
Go #50 or higher and you'll be pleased. But then again, you'll likely be pleased no matter what!

I've got 2 quick questions:

1) Sounds like most recommend Tahaa as the last stop. But, we're thinking about doing the St. Regis at Bora Bora and that sounds extremely nice as well -- would y'all still recommend Tahaa last if you were to stop at St. Regis first (with 1900 sq ft, wraparound decks, private jacuzzi, etc.)

2) Regarding which beach villa in Tahaa, most recommendations look to be in the #50 to #54 range. In looking at the map (http://www.letahaa.com/tahaa_map.htm), #49 looks extremely private as it looks to have it's own beach on 2 sides of the island, neighbor only on 1 side and it's at the end of the footpath. Any thoughts on #49 (if I can even request it).

We had Tahaa in the middle and received many opinions from this board and several TA's to do it last so we changed. I was wondering about 49 also.

Back a long, long time ago in 2004 (LOL) someone had posted a review on a forum (it may have been this board- can't recall) that #49 was a bit noisy as it is closer to some local homes and the roosters would start crowing in the early AM. However, since that post, I have yet to hear or see any other complaints about it. Even though we were in 51, I did not hear any roosters or see any local homes in that general area. I personally like the view of Taha'a and Raiatea in the distance from our bungalow, and if I had been in 49, it would have been a little bit of a different view. Of course, to each their own

I think you'll find all the bungalows extremely private on Tahaa. I think we were in 54 and we never felt like anyone was around. 41 would be a bit more of a walk to get anywhere since the pool is on the complete oposite side, but again you won't go wrong with any of them.

Clarification re: the previous post from yllams ... #41 (or #041 as the case may be) is not a Beach Bungalow at Le Taha'a ... it's actually the last OWB on the Sunset pontoon arm ... I think this was just a typo, but anyway ...

I think your talking about Te Tiare In Huahine. Nobody lives on the motu where Le Tahaa is.

Yeah, I didn't think anyone did, which is why I was confused when I was there because I distinctly remember seeing someone's complaint on here and not seeing anything of the sort on the motu!
