Maluha told me that Eric sold Raimiti and is moving it (bungalows, everything) to the south pass where the divers stay.

He will manage it but no longer own it. She doesn't know how he'll handle it never having had a boss before. Don't know when this took place.

Wow, what a shock! A big part of the charm of Raimiti was the isolation. That will sure be missing at the south pass. But I can see more people staying there if it's there. What a very big change. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks, DenverJoe. Does anyone know how to figure out when this change will begin? We're hoping to hit Tahiti some time before February, and Raimiti is definitely on our list. I'd rather go before they start dismantling the place.

Was the info Maluha passed to you in confidence? (If it's not, then I might just email Eric and ask what the deal is, and post his reply here if it's ok by him.)

From what Maluha told me a week ago...it is not a done deal yet...but it will likely happen. I didn't get the impression it was said in confidence....I don't think it's a big secret or anything.

Maluha is there now, won't be back until 20July. If I hear from her I'll ask.

Who knows -- maybe there is a little motu nearer to the south pass that will still have a feeling of isolation. I wonder if he already has a piece of land scoped out, or if repeat guests writing in might sway his choice of motu.

I don't think he is going to have a choice in the exact location. From what I understand he will only be managing the new Raimiti. He will NOT be the owner.

My understanding was they were going to relocate next to Tetamanu for the diving. Be right there at the south pass. YG2, if you hear from Eric, be sure to post here.

As their first guest client, I am sad to see Raimiti move. However, it's probably a good business decision and maybe be isolated enough to preserve the Raimiti character and charm. We wish them all the very best.

This is a bummer, I really wanted to stay there but the economy has decimated my industry (Insurance) and my husbands (automotive)so we haven't had the funds to go back. :(
