To Old Wife and other Huahine travelers - does Rande provide transportation to and from the airport or are we on our own?

He'll arrange it for you. He told us he isn't allowed to pick you up because the locals need the work. He made the arrangements to and from for us and it was either 600 or 700 XPF each way when we went 4 years ago. That's pretty average for transfers on the islands. The guy who picked us up didn't speak much English, by the way, but got us safely to Rande's. Oh, and just a little warning. As you drive down the road to Rande's, you might be looking at each other with shock in your eyes (the road's very rough), but once you arrive, it's lovely!

Hi There, I was just at Rande's last week (June 2012). He arranged our taxi, and the nice driver found us at the airport no problem. Price was 1,200 CFP each way - best to have the right change on hand if possible. The access road mentioned above must have been fixed, it was fine when we were there. Not paved, but not particularly bumpy when we visited. BTW, we loved our stay at Rande's Shack...I put a full review on Trip Advisor for anyone who wants details. Thanks!

I should have said the transfer is 600 to 700 XPF per person (so the 1200 XPF is right on the mark). It is a great place to stay isn't it? And I just read your report at Tripadvisor and laughed when you said it reminded you of Muskoka because that's exactly how my husband and I explain it to all of our friends!
