We just booked on the 11 day cruise almost a year from now (Sat to Wed.). Seems like a long time, but the way time flies it will over before we know it.
Now we have to decide what to do with our 3 nights post-cruise to fill up taking two weeks off from work. I guess we have a couple of months to decide since the '06 add-on land rates have not yet been established. So far the leading contenders are HBB, BBLR, LMBB, and of course Le Tahaa. We were leaning toward BB because of the different touristy options, but the BB's on La Tahaa look so wonderful, how could we go a lifetime (assuming we might not make it back) and NOT stay in one...but we would also like to stay at least one of the 3 nights in an OWB just to be able to say that we did!
This should be quite different than our two week Windjammer Mandalay cruise in the Caribbean last year. Now instead of mooning the foo foo ships, we will be on one!
Ain't life grand?!?
The waiting begins....

TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.

Calberry- I responded to your other thread--we wil be making similar decisions--we are on the june 21 pg--which category did you book? also, what made you decide the pg, as I am still trying to decide if I did the right thing (versus the tahit.princ.) as the deposit is fully refundable, I figure I have some time to decide-- franco

Steve, if you like a bit of bustle, then Bora Bora is a good option. I have not been to Le Taha'a, but I believe it's quite secluded and quiet.
My favourite island is Moorea--that's where I would do my next land trip, for sure. Lots of excursion options available as well.
But whatever you choose, it will be wonderful. I have friends who did a pre-cruise at the HBB back in May, and they really loved it.

We're doing the PG for seven nights in April 06 and post cruise 4 nights at Pearl Beach BB. My daughter was there for her honeymoon a couple of years ago and recommended it. THey had a beach bungalow and said it was beautiful/spotless/bugless!! In fact, her husband liked it more than the OWB they stayed in at a different location.

Wendy, we agree...need more of a bustle.
Nana, are you using RSSC to book your post cruise stay at the Pearl in BB? We're still waiting for them to update the land options for June. We will probably stay in an OWB at BBLR (if they offer it...that wasn't an option in the 05 brochure, but I understand they can work outside the box on things like that.) But we are also still considering the HBB.

Steve, I have an agent who's going through RSSC. She said the land (Pearl BB)isn't posted yet for '06, however she said it will probably be in the same neighborhood - a bit more than '05 prices. Breakfast will be included, but that's it - not doing a full meal plan.
We decided to overnight Friday night at LAX, then onto Tahiti Saturday. The flight only gets in around 9p - they'll pick us up from the airport and bring us to the pier. She said they wait for that flight before they sail, which she also said RSSC told her doesn't leave now until around midnight. Can't wait till all this planning is done and confirmed......We were thinking about taking the Tahiti flight from JFK straight through, a couple of days before, but since I'm a white knuckle flyer, 12 hours on a plane might be a bit much.

Steve: Have you heard if the RSSC has their '06 rates out yet for the land part of the cruise package? I still haven't heard anything.

I don't know if this helps any, but last year they had the 2005 rates at least by September 19 when we booked our package.

Yes, I called last week they said they had the new rates. I was specifically wanting to find out what the BBLR rates were, but found out they will only be dealing with Pearl and HBB. They indicated the new brochure should be out toward the end of Sept. I didn't write down the new OWB rates for either of those two resorts, but when I got home from work and checked the old brochure I was pleased to see that change (if any) was minimal (meaning less than $100 increase...if any...for a 3 day stay at either location).
