I ask because the brochures are from 04 & 05, which means prices are from 03 at best. Still trying to decide. Vacation is a consideration as well.

TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.
Check our Cruises page for more information

Justine- on line they have more current prices (at princess.com); if you want to e-mail me personally, I would be glad to go into my account and check out specific, current prices for you; why don't you tell me three or for you know you would want to do, and I can e-mail you back with the prices; my link would be secure, so I would check it out and e-mail you back; not sure if the non-secrue link has the prices; but I thought it did; but I would be glad to check what they are actually charging right now; we leave on june 22; we found almost everyone suggesting at cruisecritic.com to do them independently/ just e-mail me if you want me to check- nolalara@aol.com franco

returned from TP 4/9 cruise. did mostly private excursions except for bora bora. In Huanhine did Marc's Motu Picnic. On Raiaitea did Stephan stingray and shark feeding. On Rarotonga and Moorea we rented a car and went around the island, On Papeete we took a bus to Point Venus to the black sand beach. You don't have to lose your shirt on excursions. If the cruise is reasonable go for it.

Have booked both independent and cruise excursions for the TP sailing on 6/22. If you have the chance, snorkle the coral gardens at the now closed Sofitel on the NE shore of Huahine! Have done both jet skiing and the motu picnic with MARC and you won't go wrong! The Sofitel snorkeling is some of the best in the islands and you need a rent-a-car to get there - or some really strong legs for cycling!

I need some clarification on the Raiatea part of the cruise. I see that Princess provides a shore excursion Polynesian show and buffet. I have also heard that there is a Polynesian show and buffet on board ship the same night. Am I confused or what? I have heard the show is good and I don't want to miss it.

Oh- and about what time is the on-board show if there is one?

stick with the shows onboard. we have nevermade it back to the ship for the first show, but the second show is after second dinner seating. we saw children and adults the, very good show. we like spending an hour or so sharing a bottle of wine or so at one of the restaurants at the pier with new found cruise friends.
