Zonie shared her 4x4 excursion pics with me and although I generally dislike guided tours, that seems like a 'must-do' on Bora Bora. Lots of spectacular views and picture opportunities.

The 4x4 tour was pretty good another not miss is the shark and ray feeding. At least on our tour it was just incredible a dozen sharks or more within feet and the rays were all over us probably 8-10 of them. Snorkeling at the Coral Gardens is great take a little bread and the fish will be swarming you. Also if you are looking for a little more adventure try scuba diving it also was unbelievable.

I agree that the 4x4 on Bora Bora is a no miss. If you are a newbie to snorkeling, the manmade lagoon at Le Meridien is a good place to start. It is shallow enough that you could stand up just about anywhere and there is no current. Its stocked with fish so you know that you will see something. And the sea turtles are being rehabilitated in that lagoon, so it was neat to swim with them.

I've heard that shark/ray feeding is better on other islands, but I have not personally done it anywhere but BB and found that is was still very cool. We booked our tour through Le Meridien and it included (as I believe most do) shark/ray feeding, snorkeling at the coral gardens, and a stop at "the bath" between the airport and Pearl Beach for swimming and coconut eating.

Zonie, what is "the bath" near Pearl Beach and the airport? We will be staying at Pearl Beach and are looking forward to places to snorkel. Is is swimming distance from the resort do you think?
