No nude beaches, topless and thongs are fine tho. Unless you can find an absolutely deserted or private motu, minimum (mentioned above) will be required.

Polygirl... I had to laugh when I read your post... it reminded me of the days when I got arrested for being topless in a deserted part of Venice Beach, CA. The cops were constantly patrolling and checking beach goers for beer and the "right "attire. I thought I was in the Soviet Union!
Fortunately, FP is not a police state and you will hardly ever see a cop anywhere. And certainly not patrolling the beaches looking for "indecent exposure". Thank god, there are countries where freedom is more than an empty slogan.

There are no off-the-beaten path beaches in Moorea, so the police can show up anywhere at anytime. If you are looking for private or deserted beaches, better try the Tuamotu islands.

I should have added that the police will be the least of your problems if you decide to sunbathe or swim in the nude, unless you are trespassing on private property. It's more a question of finding a spot where you will feel comfortable and not in view of many pairs of eyes. You'd be amazed how some people react to a topless woman on the beach.

We layed nude on our OW deck at the HBB for 10 days before and after swimming with no complaints from nieghbors or management. The nieghbors even enjoyed their own nudity after a couple of days.
