http://www.thetahititraveler.com lists a lot of the excursion companies for each island and gives email/phone number/web site info for each. Booking you can do through each individual vendor or just wait till you're there to arrange it.

An online company called VIATOR offers excursions for not only French Polynesia, but all over the world.

I found it easier to book the various excursions directly at the hotels when I arrive. It is easier to then decide what looks good to you and what you are in the mood for! I think there are more offerings this way, rather than companies like Viator. When I first went to FP, I took the time to ask other guests that I met and they were very helpful in making recommendations. I ended up doing things that I didn't originally think of doing and had a great time doing them.

At the very least, look online for general info on specific excursions as well as pricing.

If you're interested I can scan the excursion book from the BB PB and put it on my web site. Has all the standard ones, and prices.

On Bora, there are a lot of tours and depending on your tastes you can either choose those from your hotel or look for the ones that are at other hotels... Captain Richard Postma has one of the very best sailing tours on the island, His boat is the Taravana http://www.taravana.com and I have never in all the years that I have been in Polynesia, heard anyone ever say that his tour wasn't excellent......

Ok, I was bored so I did it tonight instead. I've made it password protected, as it is copyrighted material, I guess:

password: borabora

If you just go to:

http://ozcanuck.smugmug.com/

and click down to travel and french polynesia, you can see some of our pictures as well - we were there week before last. I've been wanting to put some meaningful comments on the pictures, but I've just been too busy.

Comments, questions, welcome and appreciated.

dave

ps: http://ozcanuck.smugmug.com/gallery/5223/3/161534 I think this is one of my favourite pictures - just says it all about Bora Bora.
