I will be going to Moorea From July 13th through the 20th and Bora Bora from the 21st through the 27th. Anyone interested in going in on a fishing charter?

Yes, I want to catch the big ones!

I have a charter reserved with Captain Chris Lilley from Moorea on July 9th. If you have not yet made a contact with a captain - you can reach him at Teanui Services [teanuiservices@mail.pf]

Too bad we'll miss each other, I'd have hooked up with you to share the $$.

We'll miss each other too arrive 7/14 but head to BB first, then Moorea - otherwise we would have loved to fish!

How was the excursion with Captain Chris? I am thinking of booking this for our November Trip.

Iv'e had friends who have caught 250# marlins
and some who have been skunked. Chris runs a good
boat.

We hit a school of tuna - nothing too big but between 4 of us we landed 2 a piece...it was a good tour and Chris was great.

On Moorea, go with Chris Lilley. I have known him for around 25 years and he is the best charter boat captain/fisherman on Moorea. Call him and he will try to put you together with someone else who would like to share a charter if possible.

On Bora Bora, the very best is Cap't Richard Postma and the Taravana. It is a fishing sailing catamaran and it fishes superbly! Again someone I have know and trust and he will try to do the same as Chris does on Moorea.

One thing to remember, is you pay your money and take your chances.. They wouldn't call it fishin if you caught each and every time you went out, they probably would call it catchin'.... The skippers want to catch just as much as you do, and they want above all for you to have a good time and enjoy yourselves... I have been a professional fisherman and an avid sport fisher and have been skunked more times than I care to remember and that is just the way it is... Sometimes your arms will get tired from fighting fish all day and other times your eves will feel like they want to fall out of the sockets from searching for bird action.. But remember, the worst day fishing is better than the best day working... Or at least it is for me...

Hope that all of you who go fishing get some action and good memories. You will never believe the ballet of the marlin when they take the lure and the colors they neon to when they are alongside the boat... Enjoy!

Do you have any contact information or website for Richard Postma? I contacted Chris and would of love to go with him but his boat leaves at 7:30am and I will be on a cruise and the first tender over is at 8:30 so that is not going to work. Also do you have any reccomendations for a fishin boat that we could maybe take out of from Tahiti?

Richard can be contacted through his website http://www.taravana.com or you can contact the Hotel Bora Bora activities desk on Bora. Richard moors his boat off the hotel at nights and also does sunset cruises and picnics for the Hotel Bora Bora. He is listed in the phone book and here is all the information that I have.

Tel: (689) 67 77 79
Cellular: (689) 72 30 99
Fax: (689) 60 59 31
email: taravana@mail.pf

Tell Richard that Ken Jackson sent you and I am sure that he will regal you with some rather amusing stories of fishing exploits that might keep you in stitches for hours...

Hope this helps
