We're staying in Bora Bora as well as Moorea. Where would be the best place to go for a Polynesian show? I saw somewhere they have something at Tiki villiage, is that the best place to see a show?
I know there are shows at the individual hotels on both islands. How elaborate are they? Are there different shows at different resorts or is it one group that tours the islands? Is there fire involved? Definitely would like that. :-)
Thanks all.

People on here (some not all) and people we were around on Moorea said it isn't worth going to the Tiki Village, and to just go to a show at one of the hotels. This is partly due to what everyone seems to describe as food that isn't so great and a show that's just average.

Most hotels have excellent shows. The Beachcomber in Tahiti has the Grand Ballet on Saturday nights which is an excellent show as well. On Moorea as well as Bora Bora almost all the hotels have and excellent show. I did see an excellent show at the Le Meridien one night on the beach with the full dance and fire show. The guest sat on the steps and watched. It was very cool atmosphere.

I would definitely recommend the Tiki Village for it's show and the whole experience, however, the food did leave something to be desired...

Hello groom to be
The show Tuesday at the Nui is dancing and music and about 45 min. long. The show on Friday at the Nui has the fire which we didn't see.
I have heard negative comments about Tiki Village in Moorea but can't comment since we didn't go. Very touristy I heard????
We also watchedf the Heiva festival going on at the time Bora Bora and saw a lotof dancing and listened to great traditional music. I think after seeing this and entertainment on th eship we realized that is all very similar. That being said you really only need to catch one show and I'm sure which ever one it is you will hear the music and learn the Tamure (?) dance.
Have fun
Jen

We truly enjoyed the show at HBB. The evening starts with cocktails, then dinner buffet on the beach ending with the show which includes a fire dance with 5 dancers. The show in all had 25 dancers and 5 musicians.

jen, thank you for the detailed review. It is good to know that the fire dance is only on friday at the Nui...definitely want to catch that and now I have forgotten if I will be there on a Friday.
25 years, if you could tell me which day of the week that show was that would be great. Does the HBB have any problem with letting in riff raff from the Nui for the show?
pacific andy, do you remember which day of the week that was? I know it has been a while ago and maybe the days change, but it is good to know I have at least two good options for a fire show in BB
thanks again, it's a great help

The only riff raff that will be present will be you yourself, groom. What an elitist snob you are, I feel sorry for you and your wife-to-be. So glad I won't be seeing you in FP, or anywhere.
