We had seen one show at the PB in Taha'a and then saw the one at the PB in Moorea and weren't near as impressed (partly the age of the dancers in this troop was older), but it wasn't bad. They did firebox dances here, where as in Taha'a the guys had the fire batons (sp?). I did hear that part of it is dependent on the troop that you see and they might not always be the same.

Thanks for the info, nice pics! ...lots of pics! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. they did help, who knew there are two kinds of fire shows?! I would definitely like to find one with the batons, but there's no reason not to see both shows. Enjoy the jet skis and the summer!

I may be wrong, but isn't fire dancing Samoan, not Tahitian? Don't count our the Mamas and Papas dance shows, they don't seem to be as "professional" as the young adult troupe members and dance more for fun. You know what I mean-when performers look like they are just doing a job and would rather be somewhere else? The older ones usually have excellent dance technique too if you watch closely.
