Freedom inherently involves risk. I'd rather be free and take my chances. Guessing that the dolphins would too.

My deal was, I use to have a small sail boat (32.5' Hunter) in the gulf ... saw dolphins in the wild there all the time. I was totally infatuated with them and their beauty. They would swim along side my boat as I headed out to cat island for the weekend and then again when I would head back. These dolphins were gorgeous in the wild. However, when in the wild ... you never really swim with them, touch them, or get any true up close encounter with them ... rightfully so. It was such a rare and unusual experience actually being able to touch a dolphin and have the up close experience with them that we did at Dolphin Quest. The DolphinQuest dolphins are also a different breed of dolphins than what is in the wild in the gulf or around the islands from what we saw. The DolphinQuest dolphins are bottlenose. These dolphins have always been in captivity and know no difference. We found it a bit strange how all these fish were swimming around in the dolphin lagoon areas and they never attempted to eat them, maybe tossed them around and played with a few a bit ... but that was it. When asked, the trainers told us it was because they had never been in a situation to have to hunt for food since they were fed so it wasn't in their nature to kill for their food. They liked their food already dead. I thought that was a bit interesting.
