Dive centers for bora bora & moorea?

Hi can anyone recommend who we should go diving with while staying on these two islands? I heard Top Dive was great but we're staying at the pearl beach on both islands and they have their own dive centers. Thanks!

I heard great things about Rafael (Moorea Blue Diving) at the Pearl on Moorea. We're staying at Hotel Bora Bora and diving with him.

I dove with Top Dive on both islands last December. Liked both operations, especially the one on Moorea. It is much smaller and personal.

Dan,
I was there, Bora Bora and Moorea two weeks ago while on the Tahitian Princess. In Moorea they used Bathy's (Hotel Intercontinental) and they were very good. In Bora Bora, while on another Princess cruise, I did an Intro-Dive with Princess's Bora Dive Center in 1999 and the introduction was a farce, however I enjoyed the 25 foot dive. This year they were again used by Princess and while it was OK, they never even asked me for my Cert. Card, even though I indicated on the pre-dive form that it was only my 2nd cert. OW dive.
Some good and bad. Have a great time in Paradise!

A couple months ago we did our 4 open water dives for our PADI open water certification with Bathy's in Moorea, and I thought they were pretty good although not nearly as detailed as the pool dives were here in the states. We only had to do a few things to test out of it and then we just got to dive which was kind of cool but not overly safe. I felt pretty comfortable because of the training I already had in the pool at home. We also did 2 dives with Bora Dive Center and did not think they were very good. The one divemaster didn’t seem to have much respect for the coral and kept touching it. Their equipment was pretty bad and one guy that was diving with us had forgotten his certification card and they let him dive anyway. We got certified with a guy in Moorea who dove with Nemo World in Bora Bora, and he said they were very good. He liked them better than Bathy’s. He said they were more helpful to beginner divers. I would probably give them a shot if I were to go back.
