Ia Orana Everyone
Just back from two weeks in Lovely Tahiti. I always question myself why I return.
An excellent trip with lots of new and lots of old stuff.
Tahiti, it is worth it to check out Papeete for a day and the other parts of the island. It is getting better all the time. Did see a lot of police and security.
Huahine, excellent, great food and staff as always at the Te Tiare. - Huahine Natiques did another great excursion and so did Huahine Explorer.
Tahaa, fantastic!!! If you really want to get away a do nothing this is the place. Food was very expensive but if your willing to spend the cash its great.
Went on board one of the new Pearl Cruise ships and they look great.
Moorea, always fun and exciting. A little disappointed at the Pearl Resort. Its been my third trip to the resort since it opened in Summer 2002. They do have AC and showers attached in the OW's - Hano Iti was great, had lunch at Pitcairn excellent and had breakfast at the Blue Pineapple, the magic plate with all the fixings. Did the Dr Poole's trip. I know its a natural trip and the ocean is not a zoo and no guarantees but I was disappointed. Not that I didnt see anything but the way it was put together.
Dollar at the resorts is trading under $1.00 so its expensive. Car rental prices in Tahiti still seem outrageous but thats the cost of freedom. Very few Americans at the other resorts besides Moorea. A lot of kids at the Pearl in Moorea and a lot of Italian tourist everywhere. I visited and saw a lot of people Hamara, Jan Prince and its always great to see them. I planning my next trip and I have only been home 24hours. The flu only gets worse. When I am there I want to be here and when I am here I want to be there. O well

Iaorana Andy!! Welcome back. I just emailed you a few days ago thinking you would show up sometime soon. It was so good to meet you in LA and hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. Our trip was excellent. I met Daniel by chance our last day on Huahine. What a great guy. His brother Shorty was our guide on the 4x4. I didn't get to meet Etienne but did talk to him several times. They are great guys. Marc was really great and we had a wonderful time on his excursions. If you talk to any of them tell them I said hello.

Email me when you get a chance. I want to hear all of the details about your trip. Take care. Nana

Ia Orana Andy,

Welcome back - though I'm sure you'd still like to be over in Tahiti

You said you were a bit disapointed with PB in Moorea - was it b/c there were a lot of kids? Or something else?

We're going in Feb for our honeymoon and staying in the pb moorea and pb bora bora - i hope its not full of kids :\

Thanks for sharing your update

Luly

Kristy, it was good to meet you and your husband in LA and thank you.
I am glad it worked out in Huahine - Etienne was with me in PPT but the rest of the gang is great. I will email you.

Luly, the Pearl is a great hotel and I like it. There where a lot of kids, more than I ever seen in Tahiti. They maybe had a special or something. It wasnt all that bad its usually the parents that are worse than the kids. Screaming at there kids from the bungalows, breast feeding during dinner without any concern for others, yelling at them in the middle of the night.

The problem I had was with a certain employee that I know hates me since way back from the Bali Hai days. She is just evil and did treat us bad regarding rooms.

You may want to clarify your comment on breastfeeding Pacific Andy, before you end up opening a can of worms! I breastfed for 14 months and tried to be as discrete as possible when out in public so as not to draw attention to myself or offend others. Are you talking more of a whipping-it-out-with-a-blatant-disregard-for-others kind of breastfeeding or are you plain against any kind of breastfeeding in public? Say it ain't so!

Yes, thats what I am saying. At breakfast, in the bar and at the pool. Top Down one baby maybe 8 weeks old and a two year old on the other. I am sure I will get blasted but a little modesty would have helped. It did feel like I was at Camp Moorea.

Sorry, no I am not against breast feeding in public. Another women was there and she did it without anyone noticing. The only reason I knew was because it was such a contrast to the other women.

Yikes!! I've heard of that happening, but never have been witness myself. Just thought you would maybe want to clear that one up before getting the Le Leche Leaguer's all worked up!!
