hi there!
I'm leaving for Tahiti on June 6th and wanted to send out postcards to our loved ones back home in California. How soon should I send these bad boys out via-mail in order for our families and friends to get them as soon as possible, or atleast get them before I get back?

So that means I should grab and send postcards as soon as I get to Tahiti then, considering that we'll be in Tahiti for exactly 7 nights.

Be sure to mail them from a postoffice and not some drop box
as they don't always get picked up every day from the drop boxes.

We dropped ours in the outgoing box at the resort. We were in FP for two weeks and did the cards right when we got there. We still beat them back to California. I'm not even going to bother this trip.

Mailed 60 postcards to all points of the globe, from the airport mailbox (right in front of customs/security). It was a thursday night:
new york - 7 days
toronto - 7 days
sydney, au - 11 days
spain - 8 days
cali - 20 days
calgary - 11 days
those are the ones i know for sure

Even if you beat the postcards back, there are really some nice ones to be had - and the stamps are neat, too. Mail a few to yourself with some fun message to help you with the post-Tahiti slump.

I surprised my husband with an "I love you, thanks for the wonderful trip" post card. It arrived about two to three weeks after we got back. You know the sappy stuff - picture of the Sofitel Motu with an arrow pointing to our bungalow - heaven written in a heart. He liked it!
