I thought I would start a thread for August.
We (myself, my wife and our 14 year old son) will be in FP from August 6th - 19th.
I'm currently a certified diver, and my son will be by the time we go. My wife snorkels and loves the sun.
Our planned itinerary: Tahiti 1 night, Taha'a 4 nights, Bora Bora 4 nights, Rangiroa 3 nights, and Tahiti 1 night.

Lucky you, a few more weeks and you're in FP.
Which islands are you visiting?

We're on the Windstar, and an extra day tacked on each end.

Hello Thomas Marshall:
I will be in Tahiti the month of August. I have a beach membership at the Beachcomber. Would love to catch up with you there or another hotel. Just to chat over a cocktail or coffee. Let me know if it works. Nana, Jan

I'm glad we got all that "glove" stuff straight.
Actually, I'm from sunny California, not sure where you got Ma from.
I'm only spending one night in Tahiti as I just changed my itinerary to drop the last night in Tahiti and add one to Bora Bora.
We will be in Tahiti on Aug. 6th around 6:10pm and will arrive at the Beachcomber as soon as we can clear the airport.
We leave early the next day for 4 nights on Taha'a (Aug 7-10), then off to Bora Bora for 5 nights (Aug 11-15), then onto Rangiroa for 3 nights (Aug 16-18), and then back to Tahiti on the 19th to catch a 10:00pm flight back to LA.
Any chance of hooking up on one of the outer islands?

Hello again Thomas Marshall:
This is difficult. I will be in the isles for 5 weeks--using my condo as a base--and travelling wherever (no set plans).
I have learned tat it is great to meet others on the boards--have not been disappointed yet. And we "east coasters" are just now planning another trip to the TAHITI:GAUGUIN Exhibit in Boston for May/June.
I have a membership at the "Beachcomber Beach Club". I would love to treat you all to a quick drink or whatever there on your arrival. But I do believe it is a bit much--you and your family will be exhausted. (By then I will be over jet lag!!)
I will send along my Tahiti cell phone # in case you would wish to meet briefly. Please understand that I would not wish to do so in your situation!! and yet I hate to miss meeting any "Tahiti-crazies" or whatver.

Hiti Oumati...when you talk about a "membership" is that a timeshare type of package?
And thanks for the tip on the Gaugain Exhibit...I live about 1 1/2 hours above Boston...will try to see it.

jcsnhgirl: Ka'oha nui! Yes, the Exhibit is fantastic. I will be going back twice between now and June 20 (when it closes) with other "tahiti fanatics". I will post those dates soon in a separate thread in case anyone nearby chooses to join. You must make reservations at http://www.mfa.org.
The Beachcomber club membership is for use of all their facilities (pools, boats, etc) for those that are not staying there. It's great for me staying up on the hill in my condo. I believe the Sofitel in Moorea has a "daily charge" for those that wish to use the pools and beach. A lot of Tahitians go over for the day and enjoy those facilities.
Nana, Jan
