If we don't see each other in Moorea, maybe we will run across you in Bora Bora. We aren't staying at the ICB in Bora Bora, though. My husband normally wears an Iowa State Cyclone tshirt or a tshirt with a lizard/iguana on it. My hair is always in a ponytail. I know we are planning on taking lots of tours in Moorea. I know the three full days we are there, we are planning on some sort of activity. No lay on the beach time for us. Where in Minnesota are you from? My husband loves the Minneapolis area, in fact we are going there next weekend for our actual anniversary.

We'll keep a look out for an Iowa State t-shirt or one with a lizard/iguana on it in both Moorea and Bora Bora. I am about 5’10” with blonde hair and my husband is 6’3” with blondish brown hair. We are both very excited for our first trip to FP. Have you been there before? We will be staying fairly busy in Moorea as well. We are taking the PADI classroom and pool portion of the certification before we leave, and we will be doing our 4 open water certification dives in Moorea. We are also thinking about renting a car for the day and just driving around the island. What are your plans?
We are from the Minneapolis area, and we like it pretty well. Where are you from in Iowa?

We both have brown hair, he is 5'8 and I am 5'4. We are from Cedar Rapids. Our plans (still up in the air depending on tour availability) on Moorea is Alberts 4x4 tour, Dr. Pooles Dolphin trip and maybe rent a car for a day and drive around the island. On Bora Bora we want to take a shark feeding tour and rent a car for a day. Very excited about the trip, it is our first time there as well. My husband wanted me to ask since you getting certified, if you can recommend a good scuba shop in Minneapolis. We are looking for the rashguard shirts as we have been looking online and wanted to check out somewhere in MSP. We purchased our snorkelling equipment 10 years at a place in MSP but we cannot remember the name of it. We will keep our eyes open for you, sounds like you will be busy also.

Hi There, We purchased our snorkeling equipment from scuba center. They have two locations. There is one in Minneapolis and one in Eagan. Their website is http://www.scubacenter.com/. You might even be able to find the rash guard shirts at REI, but I am not positive.
Happy upcoming anniversary...what are your plans in Minneapolis for your anniversary? How many years?

sccs, thank you! That is the place we purchased ours, just could not remember the name. My snorkel and mask have lasted 10 years already, very good quality. We are going to drive up Friday night and come back home on Sunday. We are staying at the Minneapolis Hilton and Towers (my husband is a Hilton Diamond member this year so we are curious to see what kind of upgrade we get). Of course visit the Mall, Ikea, Southdale Mall. We have a few places we like to vist every time we go there but we normally stay in Bloomington. It will 15 years on Thursday, hard to believe it. The FP is a belated anniversary trip. We would have like to take the trip during the actual anniversary but it is egg laying season for our female iguana and we don't like being gone for long periods of time during April in case she has complications. What are you planning on doing in Bora Bora? More diving? How many nights are you going to be in Bora Bora? Are you visiting any other islands? After Bora Bora we are heading over to Rangiroa for 4 nights then back home. A friend of mine said the food at the ICB in Moorea is very good.

It sounds like you have a fun weekend planned in the twin cities. Have you been to Ikea yet? The store is very big, and it’s kind of like a maze in there. They don’t make it very easy to leave unless you go through the whole store.
We don’t have a whole lot planned for Bora Bora. We might do some more diving. It just depends on how much we like it. I think we’ll probably head to Bloody Mary’s one night for either food or drinks or maybe both. We want to take a canoe or kayak to a Motu and do some snorkeling, and we will probably pack our own picnic. We bought a collapsible cooler for our trip which I think will come in pretty handy. So, we are just planning to snorkel and relax a whole lot. I can’t wait! What are your plans for Bora Bora? Where are you staying?
We aren’t going to any other islands. I would have liked to have gone to Rangiroa, but I think Moorea and Bora Bora will be good for the first visit. From what I hear, if you go once, you are sure to go back. You will have a good time in Rangiroa. Are you going to do the drift snorkel? That sounds pretty amazing.

My husband has been to that Ikea and he knows I will love it. Went to one in Los Angeles many years ago but the stuff I found I could not purchase because I could not fit it into our luggage. We have a small collapsible cooler also, not huge but it will suffice. We are crazy people and trying to pack in as much as we can (may be different once we arrive) as I am not sure we will be able to afford to go back. I know I have the flu (have not even been there) and I am hoping my husband comes down with it. Then we find a way to get back there.
We are staying at Hotel Bora Bora because that has always been a dream of mine. We are planning on going to Bloody Marys also just to experience it. On Bora Bora we are planning on a 4x/4 tour and the shark feeding tour. On Rangiroa we really want to do the drift snorkel, hope it works out. Plus the Blue Hole and Pink Sands.
Is this an anniversary trip for you also?

Did you have a nice anniversary? How was the Hilton? Did you get any nice upgrades?
I’ve been reading about how some people can get by with only their carry on. That is pretty impressive. I could never do that. I am going to try to pack very light this time especially since we will be staying at 3 different hotels. I know I shouldn’t need all that much, but it’s hard not to over pack.
It sounds like you have a very nice vacation planned with lots of excursions. Have you booked them already, or are you waiting till you get there?
Nope, this isn’t for our anniversary. We just love to travel, and FP is at the top of our list for places we have always wanted to go.

Hi SCCS, thanks for asking. Yes we had a wonderful anniversary. The Hilton upgraded us to a corner jr suite with views of downtown from both windows. Very nice. Spent way too much money but we did get our rashguards at the Scuba Center. We love to travel also and FP has been at the top of my list for a very long time. I agree with you, we cannot get along with just a carry on per person either. Planning on taking less clothes than normal but will still need a big suitcase. Then I will have room for anything we purchase. We are not going to prebook any of the excursions until we get there. I guess to see how we feel, what the weather is like and what our options are. I have made a cheat sheet for what we want to do and places to eat. Too many choices. At ICB in Moorea, are you staying in an OWB? We booked a beach bungalow with hopes of getting upgraded to OWB with our Ambassador membership. But if we don't no big deal, we will just be happy to be there. Looking forward to meeting you both. Our flight gets into Moorea at 140pm on May 24 and then we head out on May 28 to Bora Bora. Just think, in less than a month we will be there.
