My fiancee and I are going to BB April 1 and can't seem to find prices for American beer (Budweiser) and American Cigarettes (Marlboro). Also, can anyone tell me how many cigarettes we can take into BB.

It's no problem on the cig's 2 cartons apiece and a few loose packs if you need more.... on the beer, Why waste your time with that swill when you get local Hinano in the large brown bottles which is much better tasting and is quite fresh compared to the american stuff that is imported and waits on the piers and warehouses for days in the heat and sun... Cumon live a little, you will have a much better time and enjoy a beer that stands head and shoulders above Buttwiper

As I recall it was about $5 per beer at the resort and under $5 per six pack at the store.

I agree that its worth trying the local beer while we're there, especially if its as good as everyone is saying, but you have to agree that sometimes "local brew" is questionable at best (ex.Kalik beer from the Bahamas-- nasty, nasty stuff!) Also, being from Ky, my next question will be no suprise but what the availability of smokeless tobacco in Bora Bora (Skoal, Copenhagen, Kodiak.... the stuff you see in pro baseball players mouths).

You can buy cigs (Marlboro etc,) at the duty free store at the airport in Papeete for about $16 a carton. If you buy them in BB you'll pay about $5 a pack. If you get them at the resorts, $7 per pack.

Can't wait to try Hinano. Anyone have advice on the wine situation? Was thinking of bringing a few bottles of our own?

Unless you are particularly attached to a certain vintage, don't bother bringing it along, as there are plenty of very good French wines available in FP.

Thanks SusanS. Would you consider the wines from the market reasonably priced?
