I thought the wines very reasonably priced considering the distance they had traveled to get to FP from France. They certainly cost no more than one would pay here in the US. One note: for some reason, vin rouge is served chilled in FP. Have a great trip.

You know, I came across the same thing at a small restaurant on Kauai! Perhaps it just gets too warm to store it anywhere other than the fridge. That's ok, waiting for it to warm up a bit while I watch the setting sun over BB doesn't bother me one bit!

What about the duty free at LAX airport before leaving for FP for ciggs? What is the cost there per carton? My husband tried Hinano beer at home, and says it's great....

If you must chew bring your own supply. Many locals smoke but in 25 years I have never seen one chew. Don't take any and break the habit.

As for beer prices, first off, never found any american beer in the stores (I am Canadian). Bloody Mary's only carried Bud and it was if I recall 5.50. Never found Hinano that good, and the prices ranged from about 15.00 for a six in the stores, and 22.00 in the duty free at Papeete airport. What's with that!!

Well, we got back from Bora Bora 3 weeks ago and can I just say ...... WOW!!! It is absolutely the most beautiful place I've seen on Earth. As far as cigs, we took 2 cartons each with us (they didn't even touch our bags) but at the Duty Free shop in Tahiti airport they had Marlboro's for 15 bucks a carton (cheap!). We stayed at Pearl Beach, and had dinner at a different restaurant every night. We did the safari tour(I highly recommend) and basically shopped and tanned the rest of the time. I did get a tattoo on the last day(PAINFUL). I recommend Marama, he has done lots of celebs plus most of the locals and is a total pro, plus he has some great stories. Can't wait to go back... 2 years!
