I know this hotel has caused a lot of controversy in the past. Just wanted to know what overwater bungalow (regular, not premium) should we request.
Any thoughts or advice about the hotel itself is welcomed.
Does anyone know if they installed the A/C to all of them now?

ok, I cannot comment on the OWB's because we stayed in a beach bungalow but we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Le Meridien! The water and their lagoon is BEAUTIFUL and crystal clear. The food was amazing, the service impeccable (this could be due to the hotel being mostly unoccupied around X-mas). The manager even welcomed us to a Poisson Cru demonstration (ceviche with coconut milk) and champagne. I highly recommend this resort. They truly have beautiful beaches and water!

All bungalows now do have A/C.
If you choose a premium one ask 234,236,238 or 327,329.
But you have to know that they are located far away on the dock, the water will be deep and they have sun on their deck mostly in the afternoon, the wiev is the best you can imagine.
If you choose a regular, inside it is the same thing, I would recommand bungalow 215 because you have sun all day on your private deck, the water is not deep so you can walk in the cristal water untill it is deeper.
For the rest the location of the resort is amazing.
For tours make the shark feeding tour and the catamaran organized by the hotel you won't regret.
Sure you will have a good time at Le Meridien Bora-Bora.

Does bungalow 215 have a good view of Mt. Otemanu?

The view is killer but the snorkeling is crappy. Just depends on what you want out of a hotel.

Staying in this hotel now...it's currently under construction and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. Would not advise staying here. I'll write a more detailed report soon, but my wife and I are very disappointed with this hotel.

It was posted some time ago that LM was undergoing renovations (and that they probably would not be finished until into the high season). We are still looking forward to our return visit there in December 2009.

Pomp,
Is this a current posting...June 2009? We are staying at an OVB at Le Meridien on July 4 2009. Should we cancel? Can you suggest another OVB on Papeete?

Check with your TA, but are you talking about LM in Tahiti or BB?
It is only the LM BB that is having some construction done
