well we just got back from our honeymoon in Huahine and Bora Bora; We stayed at TT in a deluxe GB; IMO it wasn't worth it- i would of stayed in a regular GB (they were the same thing as far as I could tell) or BB if I was to go again.
It rained almost everyday and the island and our room was filled with misquitos- I had to spray on repellient a few times during the night and I still got bites all over my body..
The food at the hotel was terrible and overpriced I dreaded eating dinner everynight it was always terrible- the only ok thing was breakfast.
I wish there were other dining options because it would be hard for me to go back and eat the food there again

Didnt you venture out into town for dinner? If you did not you missed the whole island. Fare is where you get to see the island life and they have a few restaurants that are pretty good. As far as the rain and mosquitos you can not blame the resort for that. If its raining you will get mosquitos for about 24hours after and you will notice them more in the garden bungalows. Its too bad the food wasnt good. The last few times I was there the food was actually very good.

Hmmm, I kind of had the opposite opinion that breakfast was bad and the other food was good to excellent. Did you have any of the cheeseburgers? Almost everything in FP was "pricey" We had no problems with bugs in the owb's It rained a lot while we were there. We actually arrived at night in a near tropical storm. We did notice a lot of water standing around teh gargen bungalows (we dubbed them the "underwater bungalow") so I can imagine the mosquito's loved that.

yeah my legs have bites ALL over them. Someone asked me today if I have chicken pox serverly. If I was to go again I would NOT stay in a GH, ours had a huge puddle of standing smelling water around it the whole time we were there,, (probably because of the rain)

Another hmmmm...I just returned from the Te Tiare last week and had a wonderful time. It did rain some, but usually blew past. There were puddles around because of the rain but did not receive the type of mosquito bites mentioned here. I stayed in a Garden bungalow, too, and did not find mosquitos in the room. I also thought the food was very good. Yes it's pricey but less expensive than Moorea or Bora Bora. IMO, nothing beats having breakfast overlooking the blue lagoon.

We spent less money in BB on food than we did here; but we also didn't eat at the hotels much in BB. I thought the dinners were terrible but maybe we were ordering the wrong things? I had the ceaser salad the first night and the dressing tasted like bad manyonese, the seafood chowder the next night was pretty good but lots of oil in it and not much seafood, the next night I had the Tahitian style chicken and it tasted like bad cafiteria food, the spinach in it was waaay to salty.. etc etc etc However the staff there was very friendly to us much so than bora bora
As far as the weather (june18-21) it rained ALL day and ALL night for almost the whole time we were there but one day.

The staff at the Te Tiare is the best in all of Tahiti. The manager is doing a fantastic job. I wish some of the other hotels would take a look at what they are doing over there and impliment it with their staff.

The Te Tiare is out most favorite place on earth! Staff, manager (is Alain Druett is the manager?), boat crew, food........everything was fabulous March 2002 for the 11 nights we were there. We stayed in a beach bungalow and wanted to return this summer but it was just too pricey for us at the moment. Going to Moorea instead but someday, we will go back. Sorry about the rain. Unusual for June and I would have been disappointed in that respect too. We try to add a few days for "rain insurance". If it doesn't rain, what a bonus. If it does rain, nice long naps and scrabble make for things we don't usually do at home. Glad that the Bora Bora part of your trip was good. I think you would have enjoyed the food in Fare though.......Pacific Andy...what's the name of that cute place on the waterfront that has the BEST poisson cru in all of FP?

We will be at the Te Tiare from September 7th to the 11th. We debated for quite some time about which island to add for a third destination. We picked Huahine and the Te Tiare because of all of the rave reviews. This is the first negative comment I have read regarding the resort and the food so I'm going to assume it was an isolated incident. I am very excited to be going there and can hardly wait. Anyone else going to be there those dates?
