One thing I can tell you, you can never get a good drink in Tahiti unless you mix it yourself. A Martini is a stretch for most of the bartenders. I have seen people order Margaritas and complain its not good. Of cours its not good its not Mexico. Stick with the basic and beer. Most of the stuff you list is what you can expect at most of the resorts in Tahiti. Service is an issue there and will be for a long while.

PA, Thanks for the perspective. I guess we got kinda spoiled on the Aranui, where the service was exceptional and the bartenders could mix anything - even a Margarita as good as we had in Zihuatineo.

We left Te Tiare on 23 September after another fabulous stay (our 4th) and had an entirely different experience. We enjoyed the best hospitality and had a wonderful bungalow that was clean and spotless. Funny how it goes, eh? Our meals were tres gourmet (the chef suggestion of chicken and shrimp over puff pastry was incredible as was the poulet fafa). Serving sizes were generous and desserts were amazing. We are not fans of buffets and actually avoid them whenever we can but we went to the Polynesian night buffet on both Fridays we were at the Te Tiare and found them to be excellent. Regarding music, we brought some CDs that Ryan, a fellow TE member sent us before we left......no problem having them popped into the player. Very pleasant hearing them for the first time at the beach bar while enjoying the beauty of Raiatea in the distance. (Mauruuru Ryan!) Dear friends of ours joined us at the Te Tiare after 3 nights and 4 days in Bora.......they loved Huahine and the Te Tiare... said that their trip to Huahine was the best vacation they've ever had. In regards to alcohol, we only order things like wine and beer and the odd gin and tonic when in FP....other drinks are too expensive for us in the first place and usually fall short of our expectations....and that applies throughout FP. Sorry you felt that the Te Tiare fell short and hope that the rest of your trip went well. Best, vai

If you left on the 23rd and were there for "...both Fridays," you were there during our stay at the resort, Sept 16-19. We must have missed your CDs. Funny how it goes, indeed.

Glad you liked them Vai - only wish I could have been there to listen to 'em
Also have to thank Barbi and a friend for helping find some good music.
