Does anyone know if they check your luggage and limit you to a number of bottles of wine, champagne or liquer?

If you appear to be the average tourist to FP, your luggage will probably not be checked. I don't believe anyone on this forum has ever reported being checked by FP customs personnel (except those who have brought in some kind of unusual or bulky item) and then having their liquor inventory scrutinized. Personally, if you bring in a couple of bottles per person, you're probably safe despite exceeding the official limit. Do not put any bottles in your luggage; handcarry is much safer.
