We just got back, spent 4 nights PB Tahaa and 3 nights at Le Meridien Bora Bora. Next time we'll spend them all at PB Tahaa! Puts the LM Bora Bora to shame.
We were in overwater bungalow #9(at the very end on the north side of the resort) The food was great(thanks John), the service was great, the staff was great, but most of all the bungalow, view, and atmosphere we're awesome.
Here's a few pictures, I'll post more when I get my site done.

Great pictures Surfcontrol. You had some really beautiful sunset shots. Also thought the underwater coral shots were really good. Had heard that this particular PB was supposed to be the most upscale of all their resorts. Had a good experience at their resorts in the Marquesas Islands which are more like lodges with separate bungalows on the hillsides. Didn't care much for the new one on Moorea. I assume that the OWB's were well appointed with all the ammenities and good size decks. Glad you had a wonderful trip.

great pics surfcontrol... can't wait to get there... what type of bungalow did you stay in (i.e. bora bora, tahaa, or moana view)? from the pic, it looks like a taha'a view.... were your bungalows near the pool or were they on the other side of the resort (i know you said the north side, but without my compass i'm clueless)
thanks!!

We stayed in a bora bora view on the pool side but since we had the end bungalow we also had an unobstructed view of Tahaa.
As far as being cheaper than bora bora, I would say it's about the same. Dinner at the restaurant ran about $70 per person, tropical drinks were $14 at both the restaurant and pool bar. Continental breakfast was $19 per person weekdays, $24 weekends and included french toast, pancakes, etc. We only went over to Tahaa once and that was for dinner, at a place called Louise's.

How was the beach at the resort? Hard to tell in the pictures. Everyone mentions snorkeling, but few mention the beach. We are real beach people, and want to stay where there is a large soft sand (not coral) beach.
Awesome pictures! Are you able to day trip to BB from Tahaa?

We could barely see Bora Bora, but to me that wasn't a big deal. I paid the extra $$$ for the end bungalow, with that comes more privacy and an unobstructed view as you could see in my pics. After Tahaa we were at Le Meridien in Bora Bora and had a great view of Mt. Otemanu anyway...
The spa and dive center were open on an appointment basis.
macdebbie~ There was really no beach to speak of at the resort, but you can walk around the back side of the motu and there was a very nice beach. Not sure wether or not the resort has a boat to BB, but you could always fly.
