Snorkeling at Taha'a

I hope there's still people reading these messages. We're trying to decide between Tikehau, Taha'a and Mahini. In the descriptions, it seems that the snorkeling at Taha'a is not a good or convienent. Even someone mentioned that in their posting. Is that true? Does the hotel provide snorkeling equipment? Also, how would you rate the spa/massage services? Can anyone compare the 3 islands in terms of service/food/activities?

I have only stayed at Taha'a PB OWB. The snorkeling under your OWB is non-existant, but I actually prefered the clear deep water under our bungalow, amde swimming so refreshing and easy.
We did snorkle quite a bit on the reef/lagoon that is on the back of the resort property(past the pool and all the bungalows)and it was very colorful and exciting. It wasn't difficult, and you can hire a guide if you wish as well. We did hire a guide one of the days just to learn how to snorkle in the strong current, and he was the best teacher and person, so much fun!
I do know in my research(we almost stayed on Manihi instead of Taha'a)that Manihi offers the most amazing snorkeling/diving, so if that is your primary concern that island would probably work best.
We absolutely LOVED Taha'a, and were even a bit disappointed in Bora Bora in comparison if you can believe it.
Good Luck! Heather

Thanks ilovepac for the advice! We decided and about to finalize our 5 days at ICB on Moorea and then off to 6 days at PB Manihi (OWB). Your suggestions really helped. We're excited about the snorkeling on Manihi and the spa at ICB. Have you been to that spa? Again, thanks for you advice. We go for our honeymoon in May!!
