We just spent 1 night at the Hawaki Nui in preparation for chartering a sailboat. It was a nice property. We also stayed at the Bora Bora Pearl at the end of our trip. The Hawaki Nui seemed much more simple than the BBP, almost more authentic. The lagoon there does not have the breathtaking colors of the BB lagoon. We had a garden view room which was air conditioned (marginally so)and clean though did smell a little musty prior to turning on the AC. The grounds were pretty, landscaped with tropical flowering bushes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was small but nice and the decor of the restaurant was traditional Tahitian and the food was good. I did not see the Atiapiti so I can't compare the two for you.
