(Tahitipresse) - Starting Jan. 7, Le Taha'a Private Island & Spa, one of the most luxurious resorts of French Polynesia, will close its doors to the public for extensive additions and renovations.
When the doors reopen in March, the resort will have two new Presidential Suites on the beach and one overwater Presidential Suite, according to a Tahiti Tourism North America media release.
The resort will also have a new fitness room, a relaxing lounge with pool table, library, media room, and an Internet "web corner."
The existing Manea Spa will be enlarged and the Diving Center by the lagoon will be relocated.
Located in the Leeward islands, the Taha'a Pearl Beach Resort joined the international Relais & Châteaux Association in 2004.
It first opened under the name of The Taha'a Pearl Beach Resort on July 29, 2002.

Jells, your name is written all over the Presidential Suite and Spa enhancements
I'm actually getting the itch to go back to Le Taha'a, but the new St. Regis and IC Thalasso resorts need to be experienced as well. I'm very interested to see how they stack up to Le Taha'a, which will be a tough act to follow.
They may match up accommodation wise (even exceed in this category) but I'm not sure any place on the planet can match Le Taha'a for the ultimate romantic ambience.

TM I agree, for a "Presidential" level room why pay 15k a night to see a forest of OWB's at other hotels?

LOL TM. I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get the Presidential Suite, but the spa enhancements are a must do, of course!
I'm really torn at this point- 6 nights Bora Bora (3 at either the Thalasso or maybe the Pearl?? and 3 St. Regis premier OWB ) or 3 St. Regis and then 4 Le Taha'a in a beach suite...I know the split in nights seems weird, but there is a reason behind it

Just kidding about the Presidential Suite, what an incredible waste of money that would be, assuming one doesn't have money to burn
Are you talking about the BB Pearl, if so, it seems very much out of place in your list; do you know something I don't know?
