Hey Zoe, the map I have (which is dated 2006) shows three premium OWBs: #41 at the end of the Sunset arm; #29 at the end of the Tahaa arm; and #9 at the end of the Bora Bora arm.
For our upcoming honeymoon, we really wanted to stay in one of the premium OWBs for the ultimate in privacy as well as luxury, which we are paying extra for.
Numerous members here have raved about #41 specifically, thus my request to the resort. I don't think there is any guarantee we'll get it, but we hope so!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you... we booked there for July and they had exactly two bungalows left for the entire resort: a beach villa and a Bora Bora overwater. We opted for the Bora Bora overwater, so I'll be curious to see how it turns out-- and you'll have to let us know if you get #41!

Hey Quincymom, we stayed in sunset 42, which is next to premium 41. 42 faces true west, therefore gets all of the best sunsets. We were glad we didn't spend the extra money on the premium after we saw the direction which the two bungalows faced. Just something to keep in mind. Also, the sunset bungalows are a fair distance from the main resort, so if you wanted to be closer to the pool, etc, then I'd recommend the Bora Bora bungalows. We loved the isolation and the walk from the sunset bungalow.

Gary, I think you're right, but I also know that the secret is out about #42. Therefore, I also think it might be in high demand.
I figured if I reserve a premium OWB and request #41, then I have a one in three chance of getting my requested OWB. However, my odds decrease significantly if I reserve a sunset OWB and request #42.
So, if I get #41, then I'll wade out into the water, cocktail in hand of course, and catch the sunset from there. Ahhhh!

QuincyMom, I like your style! I too had requested #41 ever since booking and prepaying in full (to lock in '06 pricing) months ago.. but that was before I realized there are no guarantees made about unit assignments (newbie mistake). Since learning more about #42 (thanks, Gary), I wondered if I did the right thing - but you have restored my perspective! Now if only I could get ANYONE from the resort's reservations office to answer any of my numerous e-mails, maybe I could get a sense of whether I have a chance at either unit.. :-p
