It's a sign from above... an hour after I tell our TA to book a July 2007 trip for us and include four nights at Le Tahaa... the new February 2007 Islands magazine appears in my mailbox and the cover is Le Tahaa. They have a series of one page articles on luxury, eco-resorts in this issue (the one in Malaysia looked interesting), including Le Tahaa. There's really almost no content and the cover photo is, I believe, one of the Pearl's lovely stock photos of Le Tahaa (you can download it from their site and use it as wallpaper... they have incredibly high res versions where you can practically read the logos on the towels... it blows up that much).
Still-- it made for a fun twenty minutes of daydreaming. And the quality of the articles has picked up quite a bit in the last year. And they've got the announcement for the new photo contest in it. So I'd recommend picking it up

How fun! It's like travel serendipity... : )
I didn't realize Le Tahaa was an eco-resort. Nice.
Enjoy your trip!

Yes, their definition of "eco-resort" was missing from the "articles." But there were some lovely pictures The new Thalasso in Bora Bora has been making much noise about their eco-orientation and I hadnt heard anything, frankly, about Le Tahaa that would have made me think that it was any more or less eco-aware than other resorts. The thread of the article seemed to be finding places where you were immersed in nature.

Sounds like heaven.. we are headed there for 6 nights in April, and can't wait. One thing, though - I haven't been able to get the resort to respond to any of my recent e-mails.. does anyone know if they are indeed closed for renovations all during January, as I had read here? Anyone have reliable contact infomation for the Le Taha'a resort? Thanks!

Yay! We're booked for a Bora Bora overwater this July (one of jsut two rooms left when we tried to book last week)-- it had better live up to the hype
Our TA emailed the resort yesterday and got a response back right away. She emailed Valérie Billod, the Assistant Front Office Manager, who seemed very nice. E-mails : reception@letahaa.com and letahaa@relaischateaux.com
Valerie mentioned that they were about to close for two months.

When are you booked to go in July... we tried to get a Bora bora or Sunset and they were sold out as of last week. I wish we would have decided a little earlier...

We are booked to leave LAX on July 3rd... so we'll be there July 6th and leave July 10th. We almost had to change this week and there were new openings (a Tahaa bungalow was available and wasn't before), although the prices had gone up TONS since we booked in December. We would have switched to a Tahaa (before, it would have reduced our package price by about 1K), but now the "savings" is only $200-300, so we're sticking with what we've booked.
