Inexpensive Dayroom on Tahiti??

Our flight does not leave till 11:30 PM after our Tahitian Princess cruise in March. I don't want to pay a huge amount of money for a dayroom on the last day, so don't know if I will be able to find anything or not. Would spend $100 to $150, but not more than that, I don't think. Do not really want to share with another couple, as I may want to try to sleep some before we leave. I don't need to have luxury, but I do want 1) A/C !! 2) a nice beach 3) a clean room 4) hopefully, not too expensive a cab ride from the ship or to the airport 5) Pool would be nice, but not necessary.
Does such a place exist?? Thanks! Carol

You should have no problem in March finding a day room for $100 to $150. It should be even cheaper. I would try the Sheraton in Tahiti. Its close to the airport and docks and is very nice. It should be around $110. The Beachcomber should have their standard rooms done by March so you could check them as well.

Talking to myself here--couldn't figure out how to book a dayroom online, so called their 800 number. 800 number for Sheraton said they didn't have dayrooms at the hotel in Tahiti, and that possibly I could call the hotel directly. Didn't particularly want to do that, and spend a fortune on the call. Any ideas?? Carol

Thanks, Andy, for info on the Sheraton. Haven't gotten an exact price yet, but the lady said "half price", so I guess she means, from the regular room rate, which is around $220, I think. Have another email in to the lady.
Am checking also into the Intercontinental. Any thoughts on that hotel, vs. the Sheraton?? Haven't heard back from them on any prices yet. Carol

They are both good hotels. The Beachcomber may not have cheap day rooms since they have been remodeling their standard rooms. They do have all the bungalows open which are more expensive.

My husband and I are also going in 03/2003 on the Tahitian Princess. Our travel agent advised us that Princess will let you stay on the ship all day (not in your room though) since the returing flight is so late. They say you can be anywhere on the public areas of the ship while you wait for your transfer to the airport. Have fun.
