I'd go with the Beachcomber OWB because I've stayed there and it was very nice. When we were there we met a couple who was staying at the Le Meridien, not sure what type of room, but they were complaining about it. They had just spent 7 or 9 days in Bora Bora and Tahaa, and their rooms on the other islands were nicer. The only specific complaint I can remember was that there was no english T.V. stations and no CNN, but they had several more.

I've stayed at both, just overnight, both in overwater bungalows, and prefer the Beachcomber. The OWB room is bigger, nicer, and I think the property has a better, more scenic view of the sunset over Moorea. Also, when I was at Le Meridien, the water off the OWBs was really dirty and not good for swimming...

Do either of these hotels offer snorkelling? Or should we think about bringing our own gear? Also do either of these OWB's offer a glass section to view the ocean below?
Thanks again.

The Beachcomber has snorkeling and kayaks you can use free of charge. We didn't do either but some friends we met used the kayaks. Most people are saying buy your own mask and snorkel, but borrow the hotel's flippers. Overtons had a sale on Dive Master snorkel gear. I bought us two sets. http://www.overtons.com The Beachcomber has glass tables in the junior overwater suites. Our overwater bungalow didn't have one.

I wouldnt do an OW at either resort. Save your money and do it on an outer island. If your not going to an outer island I would do the Beachcomber newer Panaramic rooms very nice.

Pacific Andy,
What would you recommend for outer island accommodations?

Not quite sure which island? We are doing the Tu Moana cruise for 6 nights and then staying an additional 3. Just wondering where would be the most romantic, but not outrageously expensive???
Thanks
