The easiest would be Bora Bora since the cruise start there. But I would recommend Huahine and the Te Tiare. Not too expensive but very nice. Tahaa is very nice but very expensive. I was on the boat last week, not on the cruise, it looks fantastic. Very much like a personal yacht. Tell us how it is.

I too am interested in hearing about the cruise--and I also toured the boat recently when in Uturoa. I had been on the Haumana previously and loved the cruise. A great way to see those islands.
Am I the only person on this board who is not thrilled with the Te Tiare in Huahine? I am waiting for the Sofitel to upgrade there. I found the Te Tiare to have great bungalows, but not a great beach and food. Food choice was very limited. I also guess that I am not thrilled at having to take a boat every time I want to leave the premises. The archaeological sights are fabulous on Huahine--one needs a car however. And talk to Dorothy at the airport--a fountain of "knowledge" of what's going on.

I dont think the Sofitel is going to upgrade or redo their rooms in the near future. I am not sure if you went to the same Te Tiare since they have a great beach with good white sand imported from Australia and the food is better than most of the hotels. I do agree the rooms are very standard and not too luxurious but the great staff and views make up for it. As far as the boat back and forth thats a personal thing, you better not go to Bora Bora on any of the motu's. Maybe it was a bad week for them when you visited

I think that the Te Tiare is fabulous with a wonderful beach, terrific food, and a staff that is incomparable. Though other opinions are that the rooms are rather average, we found them to be great and we were in our beach bunglow for 11 nights! Like someone said, Opinion are like noses, every one has one but as far as we are concerned! Ours is that the Te Tiare is tops. As far as the boat transfers are concerned, we appreciated those as well........dolphins accompanied us to and fro practically every time.

Yes, I went to the same Te Tiare--but it had just opened. Perhaps that is why the food was limited. And I thought the bungalows were great (I like casual)--they were large and airy and very comfortable.
I guess I may have had a "senior moment" when I discuss the beach there. I just didn't think it was great--shallow, lots of coral in the way of swimming, etc. And I did have a friend with me.
But as you have often said--differences make the "world go around" . . .or something like that!!
Maybe I'll try it again . . .listening to you guys . . .because I do love Huahine.
Thanks, Jan
