Jan, Is this the place with the curtains along the wall so you can have a little privacy if you want it? Very open restaurant if I remember

You are correct, Pacific Andy. There is also a large upstairs dining room which is always filled at lunch.
They will also prepare take-out if you so desire. I was introduced to this restaurant 3 years ago by Polynesian friends. Now I always eat there unless at the roulottes.
The Canadian owner is delightful. She fixes us a Thai curry with filet mignon and vegetables which is out of this world. Lemon chicken is not bad either!
Jimmy's will be my first stop when I arrive in late December.

My fiance would love Jimmy's, although her gallant attempts at converting me to Far Eastern food, have gone generally amiss so far, but to her credit she hasn't given up!
Thanks Jan, you're a star.

Hamara, is that the location of the old Hyatt? My goodness but they had that beach access done so nicely there at the Hyatt. The locals would come down in the late afternoon with their children to swim which made for alot of fun. The black sand beach was an awesome experience as was the hotel........really lovely with a wonderful open air design for bar/restaurant/reception overlooking Moorea and the sunset. They had just remodeled the pool when we were there in the middle '90's and then poof, closed!! When we were in Tahiti in 2001, we drove past the former Hyatt........sad to see such a lovely possie in such disrepair. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations everyone. Has that Chinese place been there for awhile? We went to one in 1985 in that general vicinity but can't remember the name.......do remember the food which was FANTASTIC and overall, quite reasonably priced.

As I understand it, The Radisson will be next to the site of the old Tahara'a hotel at beach level.
