TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.

Every month is a good time to visit, IMHO! Tahiti is in the tropics, so it can rain at any time on any island, but a lot of times, it's very brief. November is the beginning of the tourist "low season" mostly because it's the beginning of summer and it can be a bit more humid and a little warmer temp-wise. Sure, it can rain, but it can also rain in the middle of high season in July or August! It's totally unpredictable and I wouldn't let it keep you from paradise!

We were there in mid-November 2006. We had a little rain in Moorea, but it was really no big deal. It rained off and on the day we did the 4X4 excursion. The driver put the top up to keep us from getting really wet. Both the Moorea Sheraton and Hotel Bora Bora had umbrellas available in the rooms. The excursion was still fun anyway. It was definitely more humid that what I'm used to in dry southern california, and less humid than Florida in August.

We were on the Tahitian Princess for a 10 day cruise just this past November 17-27th. We were also at the Tahiti Intercontinental Hotel 2 days pre & 4 days post cruise.
In the whole time that were there and with all of the islands that we visited, it only rained for about 1/2 a day on 2 or 3 occasions. And that din't stop us from doing anything.
It may have rained for an hour or so a few times and looked like rain a few others but it never did.
November is considered to be generally just at the very start of the 'wet' season (not really rainy) and we had very good luck. Like it was said earlier, don't let the threat of rain stop you. We had lots of sunny days and a few spectacular sun sets.
