[i]This was posted today over on the Trip Advisor Bora Bora forum. I don't really understand it, but I thought it might be of interest.[/i]
[b]Le Tahaa Private Island & Spa - Reopening Postponed[/b]
Due to the recent bad weather and some logistic delays, we are sorry to announce that some bungalows at Le Taha’a Private Island and Spa will not be ready on time for the originally scheduled March 5th Re-opening.
Taking as well into account the reservations already confirmed, please find below the availability status for all categories as of today:
- The [b]Tahaa Overwater Bungalows[/b] are now opened for sales :
* from March 07th to 09th, 2007 included
* from March 14th to 24th, 2007 included
* from April 05th to 09th, 2007 included
* from April 19th, 2007 onwards
- The [b]Bora Bora Overwater Bungalows[/b] are now opened for sales :
* from March 07th to 09th, 2007 included
* from March 14th to 24th, 2007 included
* from April 08th to 12th, 2007 included
* from April 19th to 27th, 2007 included
* from May 14th to 16th, 2007 included
* from May 24th, 2007 onwards
- [b]All other categories[/b] are available from June 18th, 2007 onwards
The hotel management would like to assure that [b]"noise-wise, most of the disruptive construction will be completed by March 5th. The final renovations will mainly consist of decoration, and everything will be done to make sure that our guests will not be disturbed. The renovation areas will be isolated and closed to the public."[/b]

Well, this sucks! We're booked there 4/14-21, requesting the sunset premium OWB (#41).. sounds like we are SOL!! Anyone know any more about this, please share.. We cannot change our travel dates, and have had no luck getting info from the resort's booking office in Tahiti as to what to expect. I know the resort can't control weather and construction delays, but darn our luck in selecting Le Taha'a (we did not know about the rebuild until after we committed).. my sweetie is depressed, as this is the most $$ we have ever allowed ourselves to spend on a trip, going first class all the way.. major bummer..

How do I get a phone # for the Pearl Resorts rep in LA? Please share...thanks!
I'm concerned too as I leave for FP late next week...staying at Le Taha'a the week of March 12th for 3 nights. Was booked in a beach villa - which are now not available until June. Had been emailing with the hotel and they told me they would not be ready so they wanted to give me free upgrade to BB OWB...which I accepted. But I just want to make sure they have us confirmed in one of those rooms b/c they are sold out the dates we will be there...just want to find out that we are in one of the rooms those sold out dates!
My TA sucks - next time I will use a TA from this site for sure! My TA doesn't even know they were doing renovations...I had to contact the resort myself to find out if they would reopen on time.

I looked on their website and the only Los Angeles area phone # I found was for their group and incentive packages rep. I suppose even if this isn't the correct dept.# for you, this person ought to be able to get you to the correct dept. Give it a try.

I'm so disppointed about this. I actually reached the LA contact last night and he said that 1/3 of the bungalows will be unavailable when we're there (4/123 - 4/27). He said they would either downgrade us to Tahaa or upgrade us to Bora Bora. He said he would check and get back to me but has not done so thus far. This is our first trip to FP and I was most looking forward to this resort. Where did you read this? I couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks.

I believe it was a press release that the resort sends out to travel agents.
Take the upgrade to Bora Bora OWB - they look wonderful! I'm heading there 2nd week in March and we took the upgrade and are looking forward to it. We were booked in a beach villa but the OWB looks fantastic as well!

NYChic.. you must know we later Taha'a travellers (mid-April) will all be anxiously awaiting your trip report with full details about the true conditions of the facilities at Le Taha'a.. please don't keep us in suspense for too long! Best wishes for safe travels and a fantastic time in paradise.. whatever unit you're in!
