Hi,
I just registered, and have been planning and researching Tahiti (Bora Bora) for the past year, in hopes and aspiration of taking my honeymoon there with my girlfriend.
I'll be proposing this year, but can't give you the secret time and place! Haha... she might end up showing up here on the forum. I purchased a book a few months ago, and it was extremely helpful and informative. Tahiti has been a long time goal of mine, and I can't wait until it all comes to fruition!
I hope everyone is doing well, and I'm sure I'll be stopping by many more times.
Take care!

Welcome BBS. If the book you purchased was not the one by Jan Prince, you should purchase it too. It is THE book to read when planning a trip to the islands of French Polynesia.
You will also find a wealth of information in here. Take a few days and read all the posts under all the topics going back a couple years. You will be amazed at the amount of info you will find.
Also, several of the regulars in here have been to the islands many times and can give you all kinds of tips and advice.

Wow, excellent... thank you so much for the heads up.
I am going to get into my closet and dig that book out. I read hundreds of pages, and only got half way through it, lol! But, I'm not proposing until later in the year, so I still have some time, hehe!
I will absolutely take a look around at all the posts over the years. All I do anymore it seems, is use "Google Earth" to look over the islands of Tahiti, and wish I was there!
Thanks again.

Patti, I second the Jan Prince recommendation. My husband was looking through our FP books for the 3 places we're going to this November & Jan Prince's book had all three while the other didn't have one!

I couldn't agree more with the Jan Prince recommendations. My husband and I just returned from Moorea and BoraBora three days ago and thanks to her book we found fantastic places to eat and great advice. We almost asked for her at Aito's! I feel like I know her personally!

It's always good to hear from new people. There are alot of good books out there about FP. Jan Prince's book is def. one of them. Another one that I personnally use is HIDDEN TAHITI. I found that one to be more info on things off the beaten path. Very useful! Each book has info that the other doesnt have. These are the top 2 in my opinion. Both are wonderfull books!!

I agree with both of the above recommendations. Also, the lonely planet guide has pretty good maps of each island and main towns if you plan to explore on your own.
