Tahiti Drink is potent stuff :) You absolutely get your money's worth! I preferred it mixed with juice as well.
The minis are a good idea... I gave up buying a bottle at Duty Free because it was just too much.

I have asked many time if I can make my own and usually they will let you do that. Mostly hotel bars will let you. For about four days at Hotel Bora Bora during a four day rain storm I managed to teach all the bartenders how to make a perfect cadillac margarita. They had them down. Not sure if they have forgotten since last October.
I would only have a drink at Bloody Mary's but leave and have dinner elsewhere. The food is not all that great and its too expensive.

HBB bartenders new how go make good cadillac margaritas according to my other half, so i guess he has you to thank (tequila doesn't agree with me). We still had quite a bit left of a large bottle we brought from LAX duty free that we knew we couldn't take on the international flight to Easter Island. So, we shared the rest of the bottle with the staff (it was the manager's cocktail night).
The bartenders at the Tahiti Shearaton, needed major help making a decent margarita, got a lesson from my other half and hopefully haven't forgotten since November.

I guess I'd be fine with slow service if I thought Le Taha'a was THE most beautiful place like you all make it out to be. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I'm just stating mine so others are not as let down as I was by the accomodations. It's fine but what makes it any better than hotels on Moorea or the gorgeous new ones on Bora Bora? This is an open forum and people shouldn't be attacked for stating their opinions.

Let it go. You did nt like it and nothing is ever as good or as bad as it sounds on paper. Its a great hotel and if your thinking of going, go and have fun. And yes I do work for the hotel and every other one in FP as well as the airlines and an assortment of pearl companies, cruise ships and restaurants. I am going to run for the presidency in FP in 2009

Sure, the next King of Oceania. I want to unite Tahiti and the Cook islands and then we will make a planned attack to take back the Hawaiian Islands. We may try to get New Zealand involved as well to help with the attack on Hawaii. All those Moari's are good worriers and we will give them the Cook Island as a reward. O ya they already have them. We will give them Maui - Too many condo's in Maui

I find it quite amazing that there are so many comments about bugs in FP. November will be my 4th trip there and I must admit - I've never had a bug problem. Maybe it's the time of year that I go or maybe the Aussie blood! I've never used repellant or been bitten. I've stayed in garden rooms, beach bungalows and overwater and still had no problems. As for mixed drinks - try the Mai Tai's at the Lotus pool at IC Papeete. The best I've ever had. Pacific Andy - King of Oceana. Nice ring to that! When you're king, PA, can members of Tahiti Explorer get free air and room upgrades?
