The Tuamotus are great but I personally would do Mo'orea and BB for the HM. However, if you are prepared for a little rough-and-ready, and want to see more fish and sharks than you can shake a stick at, Fakarava's south pass for abundant fish, sharks and unbelievable coral heads and the shark feeding (an unexpected activity as a part of an excursion) outside the Blue Lagoon was incredible and something to tell your friends about back home. Yet, the Sofitel Motu was incredible as well for snorkeling (that is, until we went to Fakarava!).

rodjune, we got back from Fakarava (and Moorea and Huahine) at midnight last night & I was just thinking the exact same thing a few hours ago (that we considered the Sofitel Motu incredible for snorkelling...until we got to Fakarava). WOW! I'll post a trip report in a few days when I can get my thoughts together (and my laundry done & groceries in). Thanks for the Raimiti suggestion...they're still talking about you naming your baby after them, by the way! We had the time of our lives on this past trip.

Old wife, can't wait to hear your report. The snorkeling is just outrageous at Raimiti, best I've done in 8 trips to FP. And yes, they talked about your son while we were there also rodjune.
