J chip did you book the meal plan or buy a la cart. We are lite eaters and were planning on booking 1/2 board. Is there a store on near by (main Island) for snacks and bar supplies?

Hello CAC - We considered the meal plan heavily, as we are both light eaters as well (typically share a plate when eating out).. but decided to go a la carte. We ordered room service breakfast most mornings, ate a lite (if any) lunch on the run, and split dinners between room service, on-site restaurants or dinner shows.. not very economical as it turned out, but we wanted the flexibility to eat or not eat at a whim, so were willing to pay more. I believe there is a store near the boat dock on the main islands, but we did not visit them. If you decide to store food in your room's refrigerator, and it is enclosed in a cabinet of any kind, remember to leave the outside cabinet door open as much as possible to allow air to circulate around the fridge.. it helps it cool better. Also, you can request that housekeeping empty the expensive treats out (just be sure you don't get charged for them) so you can fit your stuff in.

One more question, since the resort is on its own island, can you walk arround the island, and explore the beaches or is the area outside the resort fenced off?
Did you book the meal plan or a la cart meals. We are looking at the 1/2 board meal plan during our stay.

CAC - We did not go with any board plan, instead purchased each meal separately. LeT is actually on the motu that surrounds the island of Taha'a, not on the main island itself, so you need to take a boat taxi to get onto the island. We did not walk around outside of the resort grounds at all, but many folks like to walk out past the westernmost beach bungalows to view the sunset.

I will be traveling to Le Tahaa for my 10th anniversary in June. I read your reviews and think I've made a fantastic choice. The one thing I had a question on was resort attire, Both beach and resort. Is it pretty relaxed or will I need to bring some dress attire and on the beach is it more American or European (topless)

Hi rltiplett and welcome to the forum. We are going back to Le Taha'a for the 3rd time this November. You can do what EVER you like there, but be respectful of the other guests. The only rules are the dress rules for the upmarket ChezL, which we have never eaten at. Prefer the poolside or room service lobster. Just ask and you will get! That's the BEST rule there. Pearl's 5 C's are legendary - Courtesy, Charm, Character, Calm and Cuisine. PS Look for my finger mark scrapings on the jetty when they had to drag us away (there are currently 2 sets there and about to be added to in November).
