What's a Le Truck? Is that a local form of a taxi?

It's the form of transportation that has a truck cab and a covered wooden passenger part. Very interesting. It costs between one and two dollars depending on the time you take it-day or night.

A lot cheaper than taking a regular taxi.

I took this photo last week from inside the Tahiti airport, riht outside the arrivals area, to show how close to the airport the hotel is. It is across a big parking lot, up some stairs, across the street, and up a steep hill. Still, very close to the airport!

Oh my, you're right. It's literally across the street! So, I'm thinking of storing my luggage at the airport, and simply checking in with what's needed for the night.

We stayed at the Tahiti Ariport Motel last August, it had only been open for 1 week. Because it was new it was nice, very minimal though but excellent for a one night stay. The only thing I would like to add is that it was confusing at night choosing which road to drag our luggage up. We ended up on a very step private driveway with lots of dogs, luckily a motel employee unlocked the motel gate and let us in.

Any tips on how to find the right road up, travelbug? Hopefully, it's better marked by now.

The entrance we took (which I don't think was an entrance) was...as you are looking at the motel go straight across the parking lot, up some stairs, cross the street by the bus stop, walk to the right just about 50 yards then up a semi paved STEEP road. The real entrance doesn't open up to that main road, it is behind it. Sorry, this probably sounds confusing, I wish you well.

You will pay about as much to store your luggage as it is to take a taxi up the hill to the front door with all your luggage.
