To Bring or Not to Bring...........

I am trying to figure out if I should bring my own BC or just use the ones they have at the Dive centers. I will definitely bring my own mask, snorkel, Reg. and Computer. Any advice would be appreciated!

We brought all our own stuff because we're real particular about using our own equipment. I mean, its paid for and we're used to it and know its in good working condition, so we're just more comfortable using our own stuff. The rental stuff down there (which I beleive is included in your dive price) all looked to be in good shape, however, so they decision to pack it really rests with you. You are allowed an additional 11 pounds baggage per C card, but that's not enough for all your equipment..
Lots of divers here don't take their stuff to FP because of baggage weight restrictions and just not wanting to haul it around.. so its really up to you. If anything, take the stuff you mentioned you'd take (mask and computer for sure) and use an FP BC - or, use all your own. We used all our own, and would do so again on the next trip, but many people here don't..

We have done both, once we took all our gear; the other two times we used the rental gear. We always take Mask, Snorkle (and me my fins). But as far as BC the rentals we have used were in great condition.

We dove at Top Dive in both Moorea and Bora Bora and rented the BCD and regulator and used our own computer, fins, mask, and snorkle and am glad we did. The equipment was in good shape and we had no problems with it. It was definitely worth the extra space in our dive bags.
