Here is the review for the Le Tahaa part:

Le Tahaa Resort
Overview: Beautiful resort! Paradise found…

Wow is all I can say. The day we arrived it was raining and cloudy and windy and even then I was saying WOW. You can only imagine what I felt the next morning when the sun was out and the lagoon turned all those beautiful colors of blue! Check in went very smooth with a quick tour of the resort and an in-room check in. Everyone was so nice here and wanted to do anything they could to make our trip the best it could be. We just got this warm feeling as soon as we got there. Everyone knew us by name when we arrived and made an extra effort to say hello at check in. We were in Room #10 Taha’a Overwater and it was gorgeous. We had the most amazing view towards Taha’a and a great view from our bedroom window to the Ocean.

Room/Resort
The Room was really beautiful. It was definitely smaller than Thalasso but had a great Polynesian feel to it. The tub was filled with water and flowers upon arrival and there were tons of Flowers in the room- so romantic. We loved the feel the minute we walked in. The deck was huge at Le Tahaa! Great covered sitting area for taking a shade break and for room service meals. The water off the bungalow was shallow and felt great! Visibility was perfect. We really loved the view to Taha’a. The colors of the lagoon were so gorgeous and you could see the drop where the water got deeper and it just looked so beautiful. We also had a view to Raiatea that was great too.
The grounds were much more tropical and smaller than Thalasso, we preferred this... It was really lovely! There were 2 restaurants up in the trees, which was so cute! The pool was small but we never had a problem getting a chair. We walked around the resort and saw the gorgeous view of Bora Bora past #49. Highly recommend going there to see the sunset over the Majestic peaks of Mt Otemanu- really pretty! We were happy we were on the Bora Bora Ovewater side of things since it was closer to the main area, coral gardens and pool. The sunset side looked nice too but after our long walks at Thalasso we were thrilled to have a suite that was toward the end and in shallow water but still not a far walk from the main resort areas. If you are looking for seclusion and privacy the sunset side (there are Tahaa views there too) looks farther away and quieter. (although don’t get me wrong the Bora Bora side is quiet too.) Most of the bungalows looked great here- all seemed to have nice views. Even the Tahaa views are wonderful.

We also saw stingrays and eagle rays swimming by our bungalow daily! So beautiful! One day when I was walking back to the room I saw a small reef shark swimming under the walkway- really neat! There were usually some fish swimming around the bungalow although most of the time we saw them in the evening…

We didn’t have any problems with bugs at Le Tahaa. We did see the resort spraying for bugs on one of the days. I think because there were winds we didn’t really experience mosquitos at all. There were little geckos around the resort area and the pool area but we didn’t see any near the Overwater suites.

Restaurants
Ohiri- really great restaurant. We did the lobster tasting menu, which was really yummy! Service was fantastic during dinner. The food wasn’t as good as Villa Mahana but was still great and was the second best dining experience we had on our trip to FP. The restaurant was really nice and was in a closed room which felt private and romantic.

Vanille- really good food. This is the more casual dining for dinner in the trees and was really nice and romantic too. We had fantastic service at this restaurant too and the food was wonderful. We had a warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert and it was so so yummy! And by the way vanilla ice cream is so amazing here! I would easily pay 1700cfp for vanilla ice cream like this!! (actually our last day we ordered room service for lunch and got 3 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert- I told my husband this is going to cost a fortune but we didn’t care it was really that good!)

Breakfast at Vanille was really good. We thought the quality of the food was better at Le Tahaa over IC Thalasso. A lot of times the selections were similar but tasted better at Le Tahaa. Service at all restaurants blew away our experience at Thalasso too.

Lunch- we ate at the pool restaurant once and it was good- the fish burger was really good and the other times we ordered room service for lunch to enjoy the view from our bungalow.

Activites:
Canoe Breakfast: We had a perfect clear calm morning and the canoe breakfast was gorgeous. They took us for a ride while setting up the breakfast and the food was your average breakfast items but the experience was great. This was our second canoe breakfast (first was at Sheraton Moorea on our first trip to FP) we thought this one was better since they took us out on the canoe for a little ride… nice touch.

Coral Gardens (next to resort):
The water is shallow and you can walk over to the coral gardens to snorkel. We saw some neat fish and a stingray on the first day. The second time we went out the water was much more shallow so we were a little more cautious how far we went out. It was nice to have this option next to the resort rather than taking a tour. We did get a kayak one day and just kayaked around but I was so scared we were going to smash into the coral so I made my husband turn us around and we just kayaked around the resort area near the pool. It was our first time getting kayaks so maybe we will be more comfortable the next time.

Spa:
I had a 50min Monoi Massage the first day since it was raining and loved it! The spa is very small and intimate- nothing like the huge Thalasso Spa- but it was very nice. The treatment room had an open shower area and I got to hear the rain while I was getting the most amazing massage. The Deep Ocean Spa is much bigger and better if someone is staying at Thalasso, but I really had a great massage at Le Tahaa.

The one thing that I loved about Le Tahaa was the privacy and seclusion but if you are someone who needs a lot to do it may not be right for you. We met some other couples who thought the resort was nice but too quiet for them. For us- it was paradise. The one thing I didn’t care for was the Cruise boats that would go by in the waters between Le Tahaa Resort and the island. I was looking at this gorgeous tropical view and all of a sudden this cruise boat goes by and stops- ugh- that was one thing that I didn’t like- but luckily for us this only happened our last few hours when we were getting ready to check out. The Bora Bora OWB and the Sunset OWB I am sure would probably not have that situation. (In comparison to IC Thalasso though the cruise boats were nothing- at Thalasso there were speedboats, shuttle boats and tour boats zooming by and kicking up the water all throughout the day.)

We noticed ourselves constantly saying this is paradise while at Le Tahaa! Will we go back- absolutely! I know there are talks of another resort in Tahaa but hopefully this gem of a place will remain relatively quiet!

I am sure I can go on and on about our experience but I am going to stop here for now! We loved our second trip to FP and before we left were already thinking of how we can figure out a trip back. We love Bora Bora and Tahaa and felt it was the perfect combination for this trip. We definitely want to try an atoll next time maybe with a combo to Tahaa again or possibly Huahine.

We have booked a beach room with a pool for 6 nights. Did you get a chance to see one of these rooms? Did you book the meal plan of just order off the menu?

They offered to give us a tour of the beach room but we never got around to it because we were having so much fun hanging out at the overwater. From everything that I have heard- the beach villas there are amazing and huge. I don't think you will be diappointed with it. There were 2 beach villas (can't remember the #'s) that were along the main path near closer to the pool area and those may not be as private...

We decided not to do a meal plan since we were only there for 3 days. since you are there for a few days it may not be a bad idea since there isn't much else in the way of dining besides the resort. We just ordered off the menu for lunch/dinner and did the breakfast buffet in the morning 2 days and the canoe breakfast our last morning. The food was really good at all restaurants.

Glad to here that you had a great time. Even when it rains it is tough to have a bad time in paradise.

I will be traveling to Le Tahaa for my 10th anniversary in June. I read your reviews and think I've made a fantastic choice. The one thing I had a question on was resort attire, Both beach and resort. Is it pretty relaxed or will I need to bring some dress attire and on the beach is it more American or European (topless)
