We are planning to stop in Huahine for 5 days this October and were wondering about Te Nahe Toe Toe. We usually stay at Relais Mahana, but they are pretty fully booked (we started our planning very late...). I saw waistdeep's great pictures of their bungalow at Te Nahe, and wanted to see if anyone has any input on how the place is. Seems there are some "row"bungalows plus a single bungalow which belongs to Mauarii? Would we reserve that through Mauarii?

Hi Finnano! I get mixed up on which Te Nahe Toe Toe is. There is one that is one right by the Pearl Farm and one by Parea in such a beautiful spot. I didn't realize there were several bungalows. What I noticed in Parea appeared to be only one bungalow, very close to the road but in an absolutely beautiful location. Did you see on the Huahine site the new place on the coconut plantation right across from the old Sofitel? That sounds like an absolutely great spot, too. We used to kayak across to the island when we stayed at the Sofitel. I think we are going at Christmas. I plan on buying the tickets in a couple of days. Are you going at the same time as the Hawaiiki Nui? I think that there is a website for Te Nahe Toe Toe.

I'm thinking about the one in Parea. Their website looks like there are attached bungalows, but the pictures from waistdeep show a single bungalow (which we would be interested in!) I DID see the across-the Sofitel place...looks interesting! I just don't know how you would get in and out of there for food etc.? Our itinerary now depends on the response from Relais Mahana... we might just end up staying in Raimiti for 11 days!

Ramiti! Wow! I am jealous. There is cooking at the coconut plantation. We always say we will cook but never do. We just eat French bread sandwiches and fruit. I wonder if they wouldn't bring you by boat if you wanted to leave. It's so close to shore. At that price, you could rent a car which is pretty reasonable on Huahine. You could park the car right by the Sofitel. All I ever saw at Parea was one bungalow. I have looked at it many times as it is such a beautiful spot. And the price is very cheap. There are 2 super cute houses by the beach in Fare that are really reasonable. I didn't write down the phone number when I was there. Maybe Relais could tell you how to get a hold of them, unless you are set on staying on Iti.

So the Parea Te Nahe appears to be just that one bungalow? Does anyone know how to reserve that? Relais can't tell me much since they're not responding to my emails...

I feel that it's one bungalow from what I have seen looking at it many times. I wonder if email is a problem because of the air crash. I imagine it's pretty clogged up. We have called FP in the past and the phone call for a fairly lengthy call was about $15. (If I remember correctly).

I booked the one by Parea. There's a website for it, and they were pretty responsive. Do a Google on Te Nahe Toe in Huahine. It's actually really reasonable---we booked three nights, with a rental car. From the website, it looked as if the bungalows were attached.

Finnano-perhaps they have added on since we were in Huahine in Feb. Ask for the single one then, if they are attached . I bet there is a single.

Finnano-I thought of another place. Did you ever eat at Chez Tara? If you are facing the water at Relais, it is to the right. She has a place to stay right on the water. The beach is excellent! We went there a lot last year because of the construction at the Relais. You can swim or walk to the Relais in a matter of seconds. But the place to stay is more European, if you know what I mean. I think you might be able to access it on the web. I think that it is only one place. It almost had a tree house feel to it when I looked at it. You can hang around at your beloved Relais. But I like the restaurant at Chez Tara's a lot, too. So let us know what you decide. Then there is Meherio, but Vaitape and I can't figure out what place it is. Maybe you can figure it out.

Hello, Te Nahe Toe Toe is 2 buildings with 3 rooms. 2 are attached and the one that we stayed in is a stand alone, but right next door. They are RIGHT on the water and enjoy KILLER sunsets! They are on the road, but it's not that busy. We reserved them through Mauarii, and our package included 1/2 board food and a car. The car was super nice to have, as Huahine is an island that needs to be drived and explored, as we did many times.
Also, I highly recommend taking the island tour/snorkeling trip with Moana Turquoise with Jeremie. He is super relaxed and friendly. Also, go snorkeling at the Coral Gardens.
