My husband and I are going to FP for the first time in November. He is a cerified PADI diver for 30 years, though only a one/year lately. Given flight restrictions, etc....should he dive in Huahine and with whom...we are there for 4 nights.
We have a sailboat for the next 5 nights...Tahaa/BB., best guess...Where should he choose to dive between them or should he do the wreck off the Nui on Raiatea? I snorkel only and it sounds like I will be happy anywhere I go!
He loves to see fish/coral/whatever nature has to show...OK with currents for he is very safety conscious.
Thanks for your suggestions>

Just got back from diving in Bora Bora. Went with Bora Bora dive center. They did not over croud the boat it was only 4 of us on the boat. They would probably let you come along and snorkel. Was the best diving that we did when me and my wife were down there. Tons of fish and sharks (lemons/black tips). Want to go back.

Nan, check out the site : http://www.diving-tahiti.com THe Blue Nui diving (PADI) has centers in BB, Tahaa, through the Pearl resorts. I have only used the diving centers in BB, Moorea Rangi, Manihi and Marquesas so can not give you perso advise.

Hi there,
See my trip report from this past September for my opinion of the Blue Nui dive center at Le Taha'a (I believe that they also service some places on Raiatea -- check to be sure). I've had good experiences with BN on Manihi, but on Taha'a it was not a good situation. Several other divers responded to my trip report, saying they had similar experiences at Le Taha'a.
On Bora Bora we've used Nemo World, and have heard good things about Top Dive as well.
The dive masters at Le Taha'a told us that the Crown of Thorns starfish is destroying a lot of the reefs near the resort -- we say many of them ourselves (it takes quite a long boat drive to get to the reefs by the way). The dive sites they took us to were just so-so, we enjoyed the diving on Bora Bora much more. Perhaps if you can find another dive operator when you are on Raiatea, your husband will be able to visit better sites than we were able to from our location on Taha'a.
