We are taking the 10 day PG cruise in April, 2008 for our anniversay. We have only cruised once before with Princess to Mexico. I understand everything is paid on this cruise - not sure what that means though. Any information on what is included, what to do, etc. will be appreciated.

TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.
Check our Cruises page for more information

CAK, you might want to ask your questions on the Cruise Critic website. There are some posters in here have done the PG, but not a ton of them, you may have to wait a few days for one of them to stop by to answer your questions. If you need answers faster, I would suggust you try Cruise Critic.
Have a great trip. I have heard nothing but rave reviews of the PG cruise.

CAK, My wife and I did the PG cruise on Sept 22 for our 30th Anniversary and had an absolute blast !!!! The service is simply "OUTSTANDING" food is "GREAT" and the whole cruise in general is pure "TOP SHELF". We stayed in the Paul Gauguin suite #801 which is on the 8th floor at the bow. It came with "butler service" which by the way has spoiled me forever.LOL If you have any questions just fire away and I'll do what I can to help. Aloha,

Thank you all for your replies. Windward Joe will get back to you with any questions. Unfortunately our balcony suite is one step below the "butler service" but I understand we will get some kind of drinks stocked for us. So do you really don't have to pay for any alcohol or other drinks?

Unless you ask for some super preimium brand there is no charge for drinks. Same with wine. If you drink what they are serving no charge. If you want something special they MIGHT charge you something. Depends where it fits on their lists of what is included. Don't worry what hey serve is very good. Not swill! LOL If you ask your cabin person they will show you a list of liquor you may have in your cabin. One for each person. We always get Grey Goose and Crown Royal. Beer will be in the frig. If you want domestic brands, (Bud, Bud light, Coors, Coors Light, etc), you will have to ask them to change them.

Tips are included. The motu day at Taha'a is included. Snorkeling equipment is provided free of charge. No charge for any kind of drink, other than the crazy premium brands (don't know where they draw the line), including wine at dinner, and your fridge stocked with beer or wine if you like.
I've been on her 3 times, booked for a 4th. FP is my favourite destination, and the Paul Gauguin remains my favourite ship.

CAK, As Wendy said, and I know it's hard to believe but, "the drinks are free". Wherever we went on board someone was always happily offering some sort of coctail and no matter what we ordered we were NEVER asked what cabin we were in so they could charge us. I was only charged for a bottle of special premium Champagne that we enjoyed in the cabin, some caviar and the massages and spa treatments that my wife seemed to become addicted to. She said that the spa was was one the best she has ever been to!! (and believe me, she has been to many) :-) Aloha

The PG is a wonderful experience and great way to see the islands of FP....we've gone to the Marquesas, Tuamotus, and Societies on the PG and are going back again in 2008. We've seen mantas, dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, the most awesome sunrises and sunsets and of course the isalnds themselves. Except for premium liquor and premium wines, drinks are included as are tips. We always leave something for the crew fund. You are going to have the time of your life! Re-entry will be painful though.....just want to warn you in advance!

CAK,
We will also be on the April 2008 10 day cruise for our anniversary. Then we are on to a post cruise stay at Bora Bora. We also have heard very positive things about this cruise and can't wait! See you there.
