Wow, Joe and Poehere, thanks for posting the photos! The last photo was us with Tekila at the Sofitel Tahiti on our last day. We had to bring Tekila for a 9 a.m. ATN inspection in Papeete on Thursday and didn't leave on our flight until 2:10 a.m. Friday, so we hung out at the Sofitel and had a quick happy hour with Poehere.
I am happy to report that Tekila made the trip in good health and good spirits! Despite being trapped in a cage for more than 15 hours, she safely arrived at LAX with no fuss -- she's the perfect travel dog! She is SO interested in the smells here, but is afraid of the city busses and other loud noises on the street. Today we make the 7-hour drive back to Phoenix, and she gets to meet her brother dogs at home. I can't wait to get her home; it's been a three-day journey for her.
When I can figure out how to post photos here, I will do it, soon!
Folks, I will NEVER again bring an animal home from FP! (Remind me that I said this if I ever again get smitten...) The paperwork and red tape and time delays are just AWFUL, and no two people give you the same answer about any requirement. We consider ourselves BLESSED with the help of some very good friends who helped us in this journey (including Poehere). This is the first time in 14 years of trips to FP that I will be GLAD to get home!

Welcome home Barbi. I'm so glad we were finally able to meet. Especially since it was on Moorea. Glad everything went well with Tekila. Was Tekeani able to help with the seats?

Welcome home. I know what you mean when you say having friends
in French Polynesia helps. FP could not exist without paperwork,
red tape, carbon paper, and hand stamps

Thanks, Poehere! I think Submarine and I have to start a new topic on exporting animals from FP -- not an easy task. I am happy to report that today Tekila is settled into her new home in Arizona with her 3 doggy brothers, and is a happy girl! So it was all worth it in the end -- and we didn't have to cry and worry this time, leaving her on the beach, abandoned again, when we left. A VERY successful venture despite the humongous red tape!
