Hi - We're staying at the Moorea Pearl in March and looking for restaurant recommendations, especially those within walking distance of the hotel. Doesn't have to be fancy, or just for dinner, but needs more than seafood on the menu due to an allergy. If you're in the know, please indicate food type, approximate walking time and general price range. If some restaurant is a not-to-be-missed and requires a car or taxi, we'd still be interested. Thanks in advance!

The restaurants close to the Pearl offer pickup service.
1. Le Mahogany
2. Rudy's Steak House
3. Te Honu Iti
Le Mayflower is the one restaurant that IMO would be worth
driving to. Consider renting a car across the street from th hotel from Albert Rent-a-Car
and arrange to turn it in the following morning so you can drive to the Mayflower in the evening.

Le Sud, a five minute walk from the Pearl, is our favorite. They have menus posted outside, so you can check out the menu/pricing.

Just got back from the Pearl this morning, don't forget about the food right there at the hotel. If you have an OWB, there's nothing better than eating on your deck overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The room service menu is only a little more expensive than the rest. We did go to Te Honu Iti for one night. I had the Mahi-Mahi with vanilla sauce, and I'm sorry to say that it was so-so. Not bad, but I was expecting much better with all the great reviews I've seen. Also, just an average wine list. We actually brought our own bottle from here and with a 1500 f corkage fee not a bad deal. I thought Alfredo's was better although a bit more expensive. Rudy's menu and place looked good, but we didn't try it.

I would also recommend Les Nouveaux Mondes. Good food, very friendly owner and excellent poisson cru.

islandboy~ Is that the one right near Club Bali Hai? Between Bali Hai and the little market(on the mountain side)? If so, I've been wanting to try it. I look at it everytime we wlak to that little market. How is it price-wise...in comparison to the others in the area (Alfredos and Te Honu Iti)?

Hi Patti, It could be the place you are talking about. It is located in the Cook's Bay area right around pk 7 on the mountainside. I think the prices are less than Te Honu Iti and maybe a bit cheaper than Alfredo's. I think the food is better than either of those. The food is more French-Tahitian rather than primarily French.

The restaurant is indeed the Les Nouveaux Mondes next door to the Super Marche Pao Pao on the mountainside

Les Nouveaux Mondes was definitely the "sleeper" of our trip.
No one mentioned Aito's, which picks up, and Le Sud within walking distance of the Pearl.
