Hi,

My partner and I are visiting Bora Bora for 5-7 days in September for our honeymoon. We have had packages put together that include all meals, but they are rather expensive.

Is it possible to easily access a shop to purchase your own food relatively cheaply anywhere on Bora Bora? Or is it better to just let the trip be catered for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

We will either stay at the Pearl Beach Resort or Le Maitai. Does anyone have any info on which provides the better stay??

Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Pearl Beach resort is on a motu, so you would have to take a shuttle boat to the main island and their base is appr. 4 km from the main village, the Maitai is on Matira section of the main island and in walking distance of snacks, restaurants, boutiques and a small supermarket open 7/7.
Nothing is really cheap here but you could buy snacks and food should you not want to take the mealplan. Having dinner outside of the hotel will always be more expensive than the package price. But then again if you don't take a package you'll have the freedom to go wherever you want.
